Ryan released his latest album today titled “Chris”. Named after his late older brother. He’s definitely sticking to his guns and hasn’t returned to his alt country style which made him famous. I’m currently listening to it and it’s decent and similar to his last releases.
He’s starting to tour again after being “me too-ed” by his ex wife (Mandy Moore) and ex girlfriend (Phoebe Bridgers) for basically just being an a-hole. No physical abuse. He was under a FBI investigation and cleared in a claim that he was communicating with an under girl that came out in the same magazine article as the Moore and Bridgers stuff.
He’s 7 months sober and announced he’ll begin touring again. He sold out his first tour date in hours at Carnegie Hall and has announced a few more east coast dates.
I’ve followed him on Instagram since he was banished from the music industry. It’s been interesting to follow as literally everyone in the music industry dropped him including friends, radio and streaming services (until recently). He really went into a deep hole and hopefully he can pull himself out and continue to tour and make money to survive.

I'm glad he's back doing what he does best which is recording and performing live. I doubt he'll ever not be a self-absorbed prick, but he can be that without using everyone around him.
I almost bought a ticket for his show in New Jersey but can't make the trip as of now.

Gave a new record half a listen earlier today. Not bad, similar to his recent releases. Glad to see he is back and getting out there. Would gladly see him again. Really enjoyed his last show at the Orpheum.

Yeah - There are way more stories than just Moore's and Bridger's... and while they may not be criminal in nature, it's just a bad look at who he is as a person...
He always seemed like a narcissistic, slime ball... but after many years, some people are just tired of him..
This is coming from an early fan of his from Whiskeytown days... While I have no doubt he still has some good songs in there, I just don't really care anymore...

He often does live sets in his living room on Instagram. Damn he sounds good live. I want to see him again. Especially to hear the songs from his Whiskeytown to Cardinals catalogue.

To Be Without You from the 2017 album is an excellent song.

I loved Big Colors. I loved Wednesdays. This is a little one notey to me. Some really good songs but mostly a little boring.

The fact anyone listens to him now is a testament to how great his early stuff was.

My brother and his buddy (who was obsessed with Adams) went to see him at a small venue a few years ago. After he got done playing he went up to the bar to get a drink and he sat and talked to my brother for a while. When they were introducing themselves my brother said "and this so and so, he'll pay you $10 if you let him suck your cock"
