was looking on FanDuel at Western Conference Champs and they list the Lakers with the 4th best odds behind the Sun, Warriors, and Clippers.

They have the Pels with the 9th best odds (already have a future on it)

but Vegas is waiting on the kd and Mitchell drama before setting the o/u games won.

who set the fanduel where Pels are at 9th? fans? i laughed at Minnesota at 8th, in the play in again after the huge trade for goebert.
memphis down to 6th as Jj jr is out 40 or 60 games. seems right. Clarke in for Jj jr but the bench big forward is now santiago aldama (2021 1.30th pick and then rookie jake laRavia 2022 1.19 (imho not ready for prime time).
this falls apart if Clarke has repeat of thigh injury he's been dealing with for years.

Lebron looking spry in the Drew league. Not really sure what the Drew league is, but I have to give Lebron credit for participating in it and actually going hard.

Anyway - lakers are still totally boned unless Kyrie is gift wrapped for them.

He's beating guys that work 9-5 and social media is creaming their pants over it. Dude loves the attention.

Memphis has good depth and a lot of options. I could see them going small quite a bit, play Jones and Morant together. Bane and Brooks are strong wings. Both could play as a 2nd big if need be.

I saw that the Grizzlies might be one of the teams after Turner. Adams is expiring so they could make a move there..

If his team was going hard, it's probably more of an indictment in Lebron.

He and Derozan played against a bunch of non NBA players and won by 2 points.

Ultimately its completely irrelevant to anything of note.

Also, Kyrie was supposed to play yesterday and was a no show, they still don't know why he didn't show up.

Everything that I read is that Kyrie is now set on returning to the Nets. (This could, of course, change tomorrow.) The logical implication of this is that he didn't show because he does not want to signal that he is trying to get traded to the Lakers.

We'll see. This "Drew League" has a couple of games left, so it's possible that Kyrie still plays in it with LeBron.

And that just makes sense. Even with Kyrie, the Lakers will not be better than the Clippers, much less the rest of the talented Western Conference.

On the other hand, if KD is back with the Nets, then the Nets look to be really good. They brought back Nic Claxton and Patty Mills. Second-year players Kessler Edwards and Cam Thomas should improve. They lost Bruce Brown but replaced him with Royce O'Neal. If TJ Warren is healthy, he could be a very solid addition.

Oh, and Ben Simmons should play this season. And his defense should give the Nets a huge boost. If the crazy personalities and fragile egos can fit together, then the Nets can contend. And Kyrie really likes KD, so why would he want to go to the Lakers?

The Nets just recently gave GM Sean Marks an extension, indicating that ownership is happy with the way that he's handling things, and giving Marks support in negotiating with KD and Kyrie.

For a while, it seemed likely that Kyrie would be traded to the Lakers -- not anymore. Kyrie's recent actions indicating that he's happy in Brooklyn probably mean that the Lakers would have to pay even more to acquire him, which we know that Buss and Pelinka don't want to do.

I thought Lebron was a total puss for not doing the slam dunk contest when he is younger. So I’ll give him credit for having fun and giving these guys the game story of their lifetimes.

It’s a pro athlete making dreams come true for adults. The horror. Baseball was my best sport. If I ever got to play catch with an all time great like chase utley it would be the greatest day of my life.

Makes me think about Garth Brooks signing a minor-league contract in 1999 with the Padres and actually getting to play in spring training games (he went 1-22 at the plate )

I think it was a mixture of 2 things..... 1 why the frick not go get some open run in, this time with the cameras on you and its basically just a glorified workout. There are rules these guys know not to frick with Deebo or Bron.... but play hard at times... its nothing special, thats why you see these guys score 40+ easy or even some crazier numbers. I think bron finished with 42/16

Sums up most of the posters here that don't know the game of basketball and are stuck in the Pels bubble... its okay, but the basketball world is alot larger than the 504....

My full stance on this, is LeBron played in the Drew League to get people off his dick for some recent comments.... instead lets flood the socials with nothing but positive stuff where he continues to control the narrative...

I respect the game, but if you pay attention... thats exactly what went down.

Win/Win all around...

Oh and 0 Chance he plays another Drew League game this summer.. makes absolutely no sense

It moves the needle exactly 0. The people who love him still love him still love him. The people who hate him still hate him.

I'd expect someone as basketball savvy as you to realize that and not be so naive to think this does anything whatsoever for Lebron's brand.

I have never heard of the free league and I think it’s stupid as frick for someone like Lebron to risk injury in it.

Still hate him

I dont think you understood....

Instead of people talking about BG comments or whatever else he put in the media lately, he went put on a little show and did everything he would do in the gym with his trainer in front of a crowd... that's it.

socials went viral, was an easy ploy to get people talking about that instead of this.

Your typical HEY I GOT SOMETHING IN THIS HAND...but NOOOO NOOO LOOK AT THIS HAND

I dont think it pushed any needle whatsoever... just was an easy cover. Happens in all shapes of life politics/sports/work.... just a matter of the common person to understand what is taking place.

I guess this really isn't news after the agent firing, but it does feel like the Lakers are going to be forced to make a change even if their preferred option in Kyrie isn't on the table.

Woj mentioned Eric Gordon and Buddy as possible targets, and said Pelinka is trying to not use his 1sts but everyone knows LeBron is pressuring him so everyone is asking for them.

Problem for Pelinka is that NO ONE wants Russ unless they are taking on assets or are handing off some godawful deals.

$47m expiring on a guy who doesn’t play winning basketball doesn’t tend to get a lot of takers unless the team sends firsts / swaps with him or the receiving team is sending out a godawful contract of their own.

The Lakers being unwilling to pay to flip Westbrook for John Wall may turn out to be a massive mistake if Wall succeeds with the Clip Show while the Lakers are either stuck with Russ or overpay for parts to send him out.

Man, with 1 year left on his deal and being in the predicament because you let Lebron control getting Westbrook and seeing how that worked out, if you're Pelinka you just have to tell Lebron that he's completely shut off from discussing front office moves and no longer in the know. He can leave if he doesn't like it, that's fine.

Honestly, Pelinka should have told him to frick off last year when LeBron scuttled a Buddy Hield trade in order to get Westbrook.

Hield is overpaid but his skill set matched what the team needed far better than Russ.
