Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will miss the remainder of the season, per OKC head coach Mark Daigneault.
They packed it in awhile back, but you have to think SGA gets tired of this sooner rather than later.

This is the issue with tanking culture when you have a guy who’s ready to go now. They better be good in 2-3 years. Like at least be somewhat competitive. Hes wasting quality years

he should be our #1 target
package a high lakers pick with a lakers swap, graham and another decent piece (Lewis or Hayes) and roll.
he will be in high demand and they’ll know it, but he’s the guy you empty your magazine for. Pair him with CJ for 2 years and then let SGA take over, move BI to 2 and play all the wings.
OKC already has stacks of picks they’ll eventually need players but they are so far away. It’s not a a FA destination they’ll have to draft/trade and presti has shown he will trade anybody

OKC Sends SGA
NOP Sends Graham, Hayes, Lewis, Marshall, #4 overall pick (thanks Lakers), future 1st
Who says no
The lineup would be absolutely sick.
PG: McCollum, Alvarado
SG: SGA, Jones
SF: Ingram, TM3
PF: Zion, Nance
C: JV, Hernangomez

if that lakers pick gets top 4 things will really open up as far as options go. Good times

OKC has gone full process. They might get another year but they need results really soon.

We'd be in the Conf finals with that team lol

Which would be downright absurd considering we'd still have depth and 2 young potential wings (Herb, TM3).

SGA starts a 5 year/178MM extension next season.
the draft lottery is may 17
the league year ends June 30
does anyone know how that would affect SGAs incoming salary in a trade? Would he count at his 2021/22 salary?

The trade couldnt be completed until the start of the new year, so his salary would be 22/23.
Any draft picks involved in the trade, Pels would pick whatever player OKC tells them they want.

That would also have us deep into the tax once we fill out the team, and very deep once Zion signs his extension.

only for 2 years max though
next year they’d be a tax team (CJ/BI/SGA)
2024 they’d be a really big tax team (same plus zion)
then CJ expires and they’d be back to where they would be in 2023 and hopefully the cap rises
Gotta pay to play

Knicks up 4 with 30 seconds left

Grizzlies beating the Warriors helps too.
Widens the gap in the standings, so it increases the chances when we play Memphis later and possibly same with GS that they'll be sitting dudes.

Knicks win, Lakers are now a full 2 games behind the Knicks.
Hopefully the Spurs hold on. They'll be either 0.5 games or 1.5 back of the Lakers after tonight.

Knicks are 4 games out of 10th but on a 4 game winning streak. MVPs for a our pick chase.

Imagine this Pels beating the clippers in LA to get into the playoffs with Zion coming back and then having the Lakers pick to shop around to get even better.

Spurs win! Rockets got the deficit down to one point with a few seconds left, but the Spurs were able to make FTs and win.
That and the Knicks win makes it extremely likely now that we'll be getting the Lakers pick.
