Draft revisited: ZION or JA Morant ?

There were rumblings when Ja won ROY that Pelicans should have taken him in hindsight.
Then Ja decided to show the world he was “down with that life” on Instagram.
Suspended multiple times.
About to come back.
So which one of these two geniuses would you take today knowing what we know now?
Bread Pudding Zion
Or
Tupac Morant

Trade the pick and gather boatload of assets.

Kinda nuts how shitty that draft turned out beyond Zion and Ja not living up to their expectations. It was being billed as one of the most talented classes ever.
Darius Garland, Tyler Herro and I guess Jordan Poole... after that, a lot of shite.

Trade for #1 pick the following year and take Anthony Edwards & trade up to take Tyrese Haliburton is the only answer.

Would you rather the shite pile behind door #1 or the pile of shite behind door #2?

What could have been

I would have taken Ja because I thought while Zion would be a superstar, Morant was a more well-rounded player with a potential for sustained success for many years.

I wouldn’t say it’s shitty compared to other drafts. Coby White, Claxton, Rui, Cam Johnson, Reddish, Bitadze, Clarke, Grant Williams, Kelton Johnson, Mann, Gafford, THJ are legit nba players.

Man I wanted Haliburton bad that draft, remember saying in the threads Griff needed to do whatever to trade up for him. Then to find out he woujd have traded him if he did slide to us…..

I still choose Zion. Yall crazy. Soon as Zion really focuses on being great... League fricked.
Dude puts up 30+ out of shape, no jumper, and one go to move (spin with the wrap around layup).
I think he will get there with more maturity. We forget he's just 22.

Zion is still the more dominant player that causes more problems for the opponent.

For every mistake Zion has made, Ja just torpedoed his team much more intentionally and spectacularly.
Last night you saw another flash of what Z can do… I’m not ready to give up.

Didn't NO try to trade up to #2 so they could have both Zion and Morant?

Yes because this is very realistic

Yup, I believe we reportedly offered the 4th pick along with Lonzo and multiple other picks and Memphis declined

We really fricked up that draft.
of picks 12-16, only one player didn't average over 10ppg and start the majority of the games they played in last season... Kira Lewis at 13.
Aaron Nesmith, Cole Anthony and Isaiah Stewart were the next 3 picks after him. And then Tyrese Maxey was the second point guard taken after Kira at 21.
