I wonder if that's new. I think I remember hearing that last week.

I don't know man. I see it a different way. I look at it like this: we have 5 point guards.....FIVE! We have 0 shooting guards.......ZERO! I don't think Dunn is a better prospect than both Murray or Hield. They are both very talented players who also happen to fit our biggest position of need. It's a WIN WIN

Who are these 5 point guards? Gordon (who was never a pg to begin with) is off the books. Cole is off the books. And I guess you also included Tony Douglas in that list? We have a team option for him so he's off the books if we don't want him.

So we only have Jrue and Reke at the moment as far as guards go.

But anyway, Jrue could fit that shooting guard role. He's a pretty solid shooter and he could play either the 1 or 2. Hell, he's been playing with nothing but ball dominate guards during his time here. So I'd think playing the 2 at times wouldn't be much of a transition. And he can certainly guard either which is nice and gives us options. However, I agree that he can't be our only shooting threat (especially not from beyond the arc). But I do think he and Dunn would be a nice backcourt. Drafting Dunn would not solve our shooting issues. Not by a long stretch. But it gives us a young and high ceiling pg who can do just about everything else well. And having that gives us options for our roster down the road. For instance, Dunn may eventually make Jrue expendable and we won't feel the need to overpay him after next season. And that cap space can go toward a shooting guard that's a better fit or maybe we could finally find that 3&D SF that we've been looking for since the dawn of time.

Murray and Heild may end up being just as good or better than Dunn. We have no idea right now. But I'd say Dunn has a lower bust potential than the other two. And one thing we can't afford right now is to completely miss on this pick. We're already in a deep enough hole

The Suns are one of like 5 teams on my personal list of teams I absolutely despise. This just reinforces that, if true.

At this point I've embraced us picking just a okay starter. A guy that won't potentially change the organization. Maybe next draft

Yeah, we would have to get very lucky to get someone like that.

Probably should have embraced that the moment we got the #6 pick

Well at that point Dunn wasn't that high on people's boards and that's who I wanted.

Are you factoring in the two shoulder surgeries with Dunn as well??

I think his injury history + our injury history raises the risk of Dunn significantly.

For a place like Phoenix and Minnesota though the risk is likely much lower. Both have invested heavily in industry leading medical staff, training staff, and facilities.

MKG and joakim noah have had recurring shoulder issues

im not sure it has to derail a career to be worrisome, though

CHICAGO -- Bulls center Joakim Noah will undergo left shoulder surgery and is expected to be out four to six months, the team said Saturday night.

This isn't the first time Noah has dealt with a left shoulder injury. He initially injured his left shoulder Dec. 21, and missed almost a month with a slight tear.

idk

The two guys that Ainge and Celtics really like if they keep the No. 3 pick are Kris Dunn and Jaylen Brown, sources told ESPN.

I honestly wasn't factoring that in. But at the same time, we have had players that were historically durable come in here and get injuries just like the injury prone ones. So it all seems like a moot point. Whoever we draft will either suck, never be healthy, or both.

Frankly I think at this point whether we are concerned with injuries or not its a moot point. Since it seems Dunn is the most coveted guard by all teams in front of us and I can't see how he falls.

Strangely enough it seems like Bender may drop to us.

If Dunn is being talked about the most from the teams in front of us, then I doubt they like him.

No one has insider info, and gms aren't going to play their hand and say who they really want. Everything said right now is to make people believe something to sweeten a possible trade.

ESPN recently did a best case scenario for the Pelicans and this is what they had:

No. 6: Kris Dunn, PG, Providence
No. 39: Malcolm Brogdon, SG, Virginia
No. 40: Jarrod Uthoff, PF, Iowa

I would not be upset with that.
