You can say this about probably 40% of the league, but when these guys have it going it’s more beneficial to have them than not

40% 3pt shooter

His best year, he shot 38.8% (career 37.6%). That's good, but not great from college distance.

He shot high 80s from the FT line, so that shows some stroke.

I'd need to look more into his full game, but there seems to be less spots in the league for one-dimensional shooters than you would suspect.

There's should be a distinction in what type of prospects you prefer. You want the best pure shooter available who commands defensive attention even when their shot is off which will at the very least maintain spacing? Or are you looking for a guy who can shoot it s bit but has the potential to develop other parts of their game?

Honestly, I care more about the shooting floor more than anything else right now. We have drafted too many ceiling guys that have not panned out and we have enough on our hands with Dyson. We need day 1 contributors.

Percentage is one part of the equation but the level of difficulty and range is something you have to rely on the eye test to assess.

Are we getting rid of some guards?

The hole in the roster is at the 4.

Without doing any trades, we could potentially have 3 roster spots available from Richardson, Hayes, and Willy if we decline to pick up his club option.

Yeah this one. I’m also looking at what range we will be in to go with this specific person

He won’t be in the solid rotation right away but it’s gonna be just like Trey where you see what an elite shooter does while he’s out there and you will have to find a spot for him. The goal for me would be if we decide to run it back with CJ this year (hopefully as the 6th man) he can take that role from cj the following year as the 1st or 2nd guy off the bench

really like lively but I can’t see the FO wanting to develop another big man. Lively is a really good rim protector and is nimble enough to guard on the perimeter but has almost no offensive game and need to add a little more weight

I hope he lasts to 14.

he meets our #2 requirement. defends pnr.
maybe he will fall in with a coach who explains how to shoot.

I'm ok with g.dick if he falls to 14 but he won't.
if he's around at 10 I would call and offer 14 and a 2nd.

I’m pretty positive lively will be there he’s usually mocked anywhere from 15-20. He’s a great rim protector and like you said he can step out and defend on the perimeter and in the pnr.

If we go Lively, I hope he weighs in at 250 at the combine. That will at least give him a chance to be a rotational piece in his rookie year.

If we do retain our 2nd and go with rim protection at 14, I'd look at Joey Hauser(Sam Hauser's brother) for shooting.

I really like that idea, we could also reverse it and go shooter(dick, Hawkins, Howard), and grab adem bona in the 2nd

These guys at 14 are a project at best. We need a shooter. Shooters can be found there.

Richardson is Iikely gone but I think he’d be great to keep at the right price. He’s a pro.

I haven’t seen him play, but Taylor Hendricks seems like a perfect fit. Almost 40% from 3 with legit volume, blocked 1.8 shots a game.

Dariq Whitehead. 6’7” 40% from 3.

Missed some time due to random injuries.

Big frame, broad shoulders - plays nasty D.

Will only get better - he’s the pick. Can play him at multiple positions.

Tough to pass on at 14 (if he makes it there).

A big who can shoot and protect the rim…what Hayes is supposed to be would do wonders for the roster even if Zion was in and out of the lineup.
