Yes please.

Bring him in as the 3rd string center. He probably won’t improve but he has a much higher potential than a guy like Zeller and as a small market you need to get lucky.

Like our team last year wouldn’t have been much different if we had wiseman instead of zeller as the 3rd big. But wiseman could potentially become more than that whereas zeller is who is he is.

Basically wiseman is low risk high reward and zeller is low risk low reward

Hes terrible. The worst team in basketball decided they didn’t want to waste their time with him. I honestly would rather just sign anybody else.

Most end of the bench players won’t contribute to winning. I’d rather the 15th guy on our bench at least have the potential to do so than a 30 something vet that won’t contribute to winning and is completely capped developmentally

Exactly. If he’s cheap, there’s no risk here.

Most end of bench guys on teams other than the pelicans. With our injury history, even if its for a couple games I would not want Wiseman out there.

If we are so injured we have to play wiseman or zeller or whoever is our 3rd center then we’re fricked. I don’t think it really matters who your 3rd guy is.

Again I’m advocating for wiseman being our 3rd string center. If you are having to start your 3rd string guy you are fricked no matter who that is

Why would you advocate to have any bad player on your team regardless of the position?

The guy has no upside its his fifth year in the league and the worst team, desperate for talent, gave up on him.

I predict that James Wiseman will be a Pelican this upcoming season

If nothing else, he has good size and is young (just turned 23). Hopefully only a league minimum deal.

Pass on Wiseman. Period. We can do better for our 3rd big. And we may do center by committee so we need our 3rd big to be a viable option.

Hes just a bad basketball player. The guy couldn’t beat out Marvin Bagley for playing time. There are much better options out there.

If he's taking a vet min deal then I'm fine with it.

It's rather Zeller. Wiseman is useless

My hope is that a starting center is acquired in an Ingram trade. Then a backup like Andre Drummond in FA. This allows Missi the opportunity to learn without the pressure to contribute immediately on a team that is in win now mode. If he shows out and does contribute then you play him, and you have a solid 3-man rotation at center. The concern of course is that Willie doesn’t give him the opportunity to play enough to show what he’s capable of.
