And I can say it now since the principal people are basically gone. The Celtics essentially said the deal would be Tatum, Smart, filler and at least 3 firsts, including the Grizzlies pick, depending on where they all fell. Dell said they would ask for all that plus Brown and Ainge didn't rule that out of the rhelm of possibilities. Celtics are going to do whatever it takes. And the deal will be finalized by June 20th at the latest, so I don't know why people keep talking about what Kyrie does. Because the Celts won't know by then

At the time, the picks were projected to be about the same as they are now. In fact, it looked like the Clippers pick might not convey, as the conventional wisdom was that the Clippers were going to try and tank out of the playoffs and the Lakers would catch them.
So, long story short, no

I Like Harrel and Alexander, and wouldnt hate that trade if we get back Landry Shamet, Jerome Robinson and their slew of picks as well. But with all that being said i still go Boston at this time bc Tatum is that perfect Glue Guy/Second scoring option wing weve needed for years. Then a Gritty guard with an improving 3pt shot in smart, and Jaylen Brown which i still love his upside, and hopefully 2 draft picks.

I dont think Tatum has the IT factor to be a superstar either. But He can fit seamlessly on any team, great 3pt spot up shooter, and has the potential to get you 20 pts 5 rebounds and play solid defense against multiple positions. Basically the safer bet, But not as high of potential.

I would be excited with either TBH.

Heyward is not all star heyward. He's just a guy now.
He had one great night recently. Half the guys in the league have a great night once in a while. most recent playoff game 4 for 12 from field. Meh.

But Tatum regressed, they said.

Here come the Tatum guys. Sweet Lou outplayed Durant Sunday late does that mean anything?

Sweet Lou is like 40.
Personally I think it’s just a confidence thing with Tatum. He needs to be more aggressive. When he’s aggressive, he plays well

Don’t believe it’s a confidence issue. He just needs his own team. Everything is running through Irving in Boston.

In 21 career playoff games, Tatum averaging 18.7ppg on 13.9 shots. 13-8 W-L record in those games. Took out the Sixers last year, and nearly the Cavs. This is at 20-21 years old. All but two of those games were when he was less than a year older than Morant is right now, and all but two were when Boston was missing two All-Stars.
I'm of the mind that the kid is going to be a 25+ppg scorer in a featured role in this league. he has a great mental makeup to boot. Poised and clutch, good in the locker room, and works his arse off to improve his game. Not trying to kill a trade to a bad team like many players would.
You guys should write a thank you letter to God if the Pels end up with him and a bunch of other assets for a guy who demanded a trade and whose agent is clearly trying to steer him to LeBron in a year.

After acquiring Davis, Boston more than likely won't be able to resign Jaylen anyway. So I'm sure they won't reject a Pelicans J brown trade demand if that's what it takes to get the trade done.

They have his bird rights, they can re-sign him to a max deal if they are willing to pay the tax associated with it
Posted on 4/18/19 at 5:41 pm to Soggymoss
Yeah also by that time Horford's 30 mil contract would be coming off the books

playing around on tankathon, i got this
ATL
PHX
NOP
NYK
Would be interesting to see who we value more, trying to get zion or working an angle to get JMo away from phx and trading with Boston. Would ATL value AD more than Zion?

Honestly if they're smart(which that's an open question), they stick with Zion.
AD almost assuredly would not promise to sign an extension and Zion will be cost controlled for the next 7 years or so.
We really have to hope LA or NY hits the lottery at 1 or 2 if we want Zion or Ja.
