Also, Kira is fricking terrible. We will be so so so much better when Jose is back. That will be a very underrated addition. Larry still doesn’t look 100%, hopefully he can get back right

Good point. I’ve always been skeptical that Jose is really a plus 20 minute nba player on a good team, but love him off the bench for 15-18 and that should include all of Kira’s minutes.

He’s miles better than Kira regardless of the matchup. Add Trey back too and let’s cook

I was enjoying the game in the SKC with my daughter and not in the thread ... just got home.

My thoughts? Herb + Dyson is an elite defensive combo. Those two are both in the top ten defensive players in the league. When Jose comes back, that's another wrench that gets thrown into the other team's plans.

The lineup with Zion at the 5 looked good with Herb and Dyson out there. That lineup is good enough defensively that we don't need Jonas or Larry out there. I think that it needs both Herb and Dyson, though.

They ended up shooting 19% from 3 -- 7 makes on 37 attempts. Does anyone know why Fournier didn't play? When the Knicks couldn't make a shot for long stretches of time, I felt sure that Thibs would put Fournier in to make some shots, and he didn't.

Jordan Hawkins makes rookie mistakes on defense, but he puts forth real effort. In the long term, I think that his defense will be fine. In contrast, there were a number of plays tonight where I thought that Zion and BI didn't put forth anything close to maximum defensive effort.

Fournier hasn’t been in the rotation for a long time. He hasn’t played a minute this year.

What I am saying is that, if the Knicks are going to shoot 19% from 3, then they should consider playing him.

I mean, we are playing a 2-way guy that we just signed off waivers, because we need guys who can make threes.

Fournier is the kind of guy who could come in hot and score a bunch of points quickly.

He has been a terrible shooter as a Knick and then said that the franchise is holding him hostage because they won’t trade him. Maybe you can do one of those things and still play, but I imagine both will get you glued to the bench.

They were horrible with him. They just can’t trade him because of his crazy contract.

I mean Jose has already proved it.

He is an important part of the team. Bi and everyone would tell you that

This. There are still people who say "Oh, he's too small." But Jose comes in the game and completely disrupts the opponent's offensive rhythm. The +/- stats say that he's very valuable.

Sometimes the +/- thing can be misleading. That is NOT the case with GTA. He is extremely disruptive and gives the team a huge boost when the starters are sagging. Those steals help energize everyone, and disrupting the point consistently frustrates the other team.
