i think the NBA would void any deal with too many picks from us. OKC would own 1/3 of the next 5 drafts

The enormous backlash from the Portland Trail Blazers' process to hire a new coach and his concerns on whether a championship contender can be built have become factors that may push the franchise player — Damian Lillard — out the door, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

More at the LINK

This is from "league sources" not "sources close to Lillard", so take it with a grain of salt. It could be from a team looking to trade for Dame for all we know.

Force Portland to get the coach that you want, and then force your way out because fans (and others in the city) are upset with you and don't like the coach that you forced your team to hire.

Perfect.

Chris Haynes is apparently the closest reporter to the Blazers and Dame so this is probably legit and not BS. Could very well be coming from Dames circle

The coaching search was conducted by Neil Olshey, the team’s president of basketball operations. None of the candidates who were interviewed were from suggestions from Lillard, sources said.

Yeah. Haynes is basically Lillard's personal reporter. He's the guy that Dame gave the direct quote to, about wanting Kidd.

quote:

And although the All-NBA guard has a relationship with Billups as a coach, announcer and former player, he had no prior knowledge of the past sexual assault allegations against him from 1997.
This also seems like Dame using Haynes to distance himself from Billups and telling fans to get off his back, or he's out.

If Dame does force a trade I don't think he ends up with the Pels, but I could see the Pels being facilitators depending on where he wants to go.

Yeah, a Dame trade puts a lot of pieces in motion. And if it happens, it makes it likely that Portland sells off other pieces and goes for a total rebuild.

Dame has 4 years left on his contract, he won't have much say on where he wants to go.

The Trail Blazers have scheduled a noon press conference on Tuesday to announce their new head coach. The team is not saying who the coach is but all indications are that it will be Chauncey Billups.
Put this on PPV.

DO NOT SPEAK THAT EVIL.

haha no seriously, if the pels could work out a s&t with lonzo, that plus NAW, Kira, and or Jax with a frickton of 1s would be better than what most teams would be willing to trade for 31 year old Dame. Hell I'll even consider BI and a few 1sts too. Dame and Zion in the pnr would be an absolute nightmare for 4 years.

Because stars never have a say…

I think Dame can be convinced to come to NOLA. He isn’t a follower and I think he would love to play with Zion.

Is his rap career important to him?

Dame/Zion

Dame/Wayne

I'd trade the entire roster and all the picks if there was a way to get Dame without giving up BI.

Starting from scratch with Lillard, Zion and BI puts this franchise closer to contention than we've ever been.

His only say would be if he refuses to play for that team, which would mean his career is finished and he's leaving almost 200 million on the table.

He doesn't have much say. Now Portland would do him a solid and make sure not to send him to Orlando, Detroit, Minnesota or some other shite team, but outside of that he will end up with whoever gives the best package.

Agreed, it could end up being something like:

Dame, Adams to miami
Bam, Robinson to new orleans
Zo, Lewis, Hayes, an arse ton of picks to portland

Outside of OKC, who wouldn’t want Dame, who can offer a better package for a rebuilding team?

Atlanta if they want to go that route.

Also Miami.

And if we didn't want to add BI, then GS could probably outbid us too.

They including Trae? That's the only way they beat a Pels offer
