This makes me so sad. Last season before he got hurt even he was destroying people.

Hes out of shape for sure but I do wonder how much that hamstring injury took away from his burst/quickness. His lateral movement and burst have completely disappeared and you do wonder if its partly due to the major hamstring injury he had last year. Like he used to blow past guys and now it seems he can’t at all.

I think the weight is a huge factor. He’s enormous right now. Perhaps he’s trying to also to be careful and not blow out his hamstrings again.

I think he has the same ability in him. He’s just A) fat and B) probably afraid of re injury bc he’s terrible at rehabbing.

Excuse me for the repetition.

That’s all we'll be left with when he eventually moves on from the Pelicans. A lot of highlights and nothing to show for it.

That would be 2 injuries that robbed him of what made him special. Duke Zion died his rookie season and it's truly sad.

He’s lost at least 10 inches on his vertical

I think that guy is still in there, he’s just 30 pounds heavier.

Even up to his injury last year he was pretty dominant but still a little too heavy, man if he could just get his diet in order but it hasn’t happened yet and i dont know if it ever will. I legit think he has some sort of binge eating disorder

Naw. He lost a lost of burst with that knee injury. He's literally never showed Duke Zion

A year or so ago I posted the (now) infamous video of the Duke pregame layup line. That effortless explosiveness simply is gone.

He's dominant as a lesser version of what we thought we were getting. The projections of him as a super duper prospect were last year + Duke Zion athleticism. It has REALLY hampered him on defense.

I agree it’s gone but it’s hard to tell if it’s because of injury or the simple fact he’s 300lbs instead of 275 lol. 25lbs of fat will put a damper on your explosiveness

I mean this is just a rumor I heard from someone that works for the pels but apparently zion loves Juan’s Flying Burritos.

Apparently he’ll get 2 of their biggest burritos at a time loaded with sour cream and queso and destroy them.

The genesis of all his issues physically and mentally

What is it, losing one LB of weight relieves 5 LBs of pressure off of his joints & muscles

This dude must be eating like Joey Chestnut to be eating more calories than he is burning as an NBA athlete. 30% through the season along with practices, off season work etc. it’s mind boggling

It's always like this with athletes who eat themselves out of the league.

Are they consuming 15k calories/day?
