Did he say anything about a GM? Or Jrue? Or any other players?

1. Jrue was first player he mentioned.

2. Best thing for the franchise is for AD to stay long term. Everyone will get over it when he puts up a 40-20, and he says the issue wasn't the city, it was the season they were having + not trusting Dell Demps to build the right team around him.

3. We'll never get fair value in return for AD.

Nothing meaningful was said about the GM or players except:

Jrue "embodies who we want to be and how we want to play" or something along those lines

He also had some surprising comments regarding AD. Basically since he was Cleveland's GM he has a long history and good relationship with Klutch. He hasn't talked to AD but he has talked to Rich Paul and he thinks he can convince AD that the Pels will be moving in a direction that he'll want to stick around for.

Griffin is super sharp. At the very least he is driving ADs price up. He isn’t getting the shaft in a trade.

Why wouldn’t he try to convince AD to stay? If he succeeds in doing so, AD signs an extension and his value is even higher if it doesn’t work out. Maybe the bridge is too burned, but it still makes sense to see if he is on board with the vision.

"AD, we get a top 2 pick of draft, you sign extension?"

What if AD says he will sign the supermax extension but demands a no trade clause....what do you do?

You throw a parade for Griffin. That's what you do. AD is a fn future hall of famer.

I'd tell him he has lost that privilege. Sign it or we are trading you to Atlanta.

Because the fan base has already made it to the acceptance stage of grief. That would be kind of funny if the Pels managed to keep AD and sign Kyrie in FA. Lakers, Knicks, Celtics all get screwed in one fell swoop.

Be even funnier if we got a top pick too.

Jrue
Kyrie
Zion/Ja/RJ
AD

I dont think this board could handle that though.

I agree with Cruz that there isn't enough of a passionate fan base to worry about any backlash if AD were to re-sign. Most people would be thrilled.

Only the die hards would be bitter and there are very few Pelicans diehards.

New Orleans and the entire state, really, is not a sophisticated basketball market. Football, sure, but even then shite surprises me. Like the idiot masses in love with Ogre.

If you think AD can't be redeemed in the general public's eye, you obviously forgot that Tom Benson now is considered a Saints by most Saints fans and only a few of us still think he's a giant a-hole for trying to move the team after Katrina. Most people are dumb and have short attention spans/memories.

It took like 3 days for people turn from hating the man, to Gentry defenders.

It would take one tweet about loving the city and wanting to build something "special" for the fanbase to fall back in love with Davis.

FYI Benson was actually going to move the team. My close friend’s sister dated Joe Horn shortly after he moved back and he said Benson wanted to move the team to San Antonio but the NFL Commissioner made them stay for PR purposes and the amount of revenue the league receives for having the Super Bowl in New Orleans.

David Griffin is about to gift wrap AD to the Lakers. In exchange, the NBA will ring the lottery so that the Pelicans wind up with 2 of the top 3 draft picks. 1 which will be acquired after trading AD to LA. Hope we don't get anything else from them and a third team values the Lakers players far more so we can pick from that squad.

AD to Lakers confirmed with this press conference here today. Congrats to everyone who wanted David Griffin.

Goodbye Tatum trade.

And what exactly in that conference made you come to this conclusion??

FYI, if we end up with 2 top 3 picks and the other pieces we get from LA for AD, we would be a better team long term than they would
