I'm officially on the Zach Collins bandwagon. 18/10/5 per 36 last season.

Especially if the savings allow us to use the full MLE or just some other way to also add an upgrade with the additional space below the tax it could potentially give us.

Collins would be a great add but idk if im trading Jonas for him. We don't know if collins can be a starting center on a good team and you're also banking on him being healthy which he usually isnt. I'd be looking to add him to Jonas and Nance. Kira + Naji for Collins works money wise, idk if the spurs do that

I'd do these two trades

Trade #1

Pels get Jarrett Allen
Pacers get Jonas Valanciunas, Kira Lewis, 2 2nds
Cavs get Myles Turner, Chris Duarte

Pels get Zach Collins
Jazz get Garrett Temple, Naji Marshall, 2 2nds
Spurs get Kelly Olynyk, Willy Hernangomez, Talen Horton-Tucker, 2nd

Do you have the Pels sending out 4 2nds? They only have 2 left. A 2024 2nd, and when the league calendar flips in July they can trade the 2030 2nd. I never thought I'd care so much about 2nds but when you're down to none it seems limiting.

I still don't see any reason why the Pacers would swap Turner for Jval without getting something more of a real asset back.

Pacers have $95mil on the books for next season and $65mil for the following season.

I don't really see the incentive for moving Turner for cap space down the road when they already have a bunch of cap space.

When an actual named source says otherwise, I will believe it then.
Let me know when you get that. How many reporters reveal their sources?

We've gone over and over this. There just isn't a trade that's a good fit. You either get an actual upgrade that you can't afford like Ayton, grossly over pay in trade assets for a lateral move like Turner/Claxton, or you save a little money and probably downgrade with a buy low candidate.

The fact that JV was pushing for an extension, which I wouldn't do now, makes me believe you could keep him for MLE money or less. The Pels are going to offer him the best combination of money and a chance to win. A contender would only have the minimum. Playoff teams would only have taxpayer MLEs. Anyone that would pay more would not be a playoff team.

He seems happy with the city, the team, and he's willing to play whatever role we need from him. You see what happens this year and if you don't find his replacement, resign him to the center committee for hopefully $10 or less.

Not a chance the Jazz would give up THT for that.

I don’t mean specific names.

“A source within the pelicans front office”

Is not the same as

“An Unnamed source with a close eye on the situation.”
