Looks like we will see most of the Laker second unit this summer.

I like Shamit's trade proposal today of Graham + 8 to the Wizards for KCP + 10
I like that deal for both sides. Obviously, needs slightly more, but that's a solid framework

Trade machine failed it, but I think their numbers are off.
IIRC, KCP is only partially guaranteed and they would have to fully guarantee it to trade him.
Otherwise, it is claiming we could only send out a max of roughly $8.5m to get back a $14m contract.
(Graham at $11m+ should be reasonably close to KCP at $14m, give or take another player)

it works on real GM trade checker and fanspo (KCP for Graham straight up)

About what I thought.
ESPN trade machine shows KCP’s book value but is calculating off his guaranteed money.
If he gets traded, his full contract gets guaranteed as part of the deal, so it shouldn’t fail over salary matching.

Who let the dogs out? Who? Who? Who?

what about a deal with SAS to move back to 9?
assuming theres a player they want at 8
temple + 8 for 9 + cash?

I'd prefer to keep both Temple and Billy. That should be players 14 and 15 on this roster. I don't expect either to play much, but i think both are important to the team. We don't need the extra $5M to dump Temple, and we'll get cash for the two 2nd round picks we aren't making.
I can't see anyone other than DG and/or Jax getting traded this offseason.

Fair deal, but I’d only do that trade if Mathurn, Daniels, and Sochan are all on the board at 8. You are at least guaranteed one of the three.

Why would you rather Temple over a 2nd round pick with potential? Billy should stay because we need help at C especially if there’s an injury. Temple is 4th string in every position.

right, agreed. but in a trade down to 9 with SAS, thats all they are going to swallow salary-wise. it also opens a roster spot so we can use the MLE if we want (on a 2nd round pick, just like herb last year)
so temple+8 for 9+cash gets you $5MM is salary savings and allows you to draft and sign a player at 41 and/or sign a vet FA using the MLE

It is closer to $5.5m saved.
Going from 8 to 9 saves about $300k a season for the rookie deal.
Combine that with dumping Temple’s $5.15m deal and you create a roster spot while saving $5.45 in actual salary.

The Pacers are seriously discussing trades around Myles Turner and Malcolm Brogdon, per

Well, the Kings aren’t involved.
Sabonis-Turner already failed in Indy and Brogdon likely can’t play alongside Fox.

I didn't say that.
My point is that if we are going to move someone to create a roster spot, it should be DG or Jax. When this team is healthy, neither of them are going to play much, and i'd rather the first round pick getting their minutes anyway.
Almost every video you see of the team together on the court, Temple is the one that leads them and does all the talking. I'd rather him on the team than Jax, and you can at least get back assets by sending him out.

you'll be way down in the teens after that trade, too far to make the roster spot worth it
