So, you're saying let a player walk rather than get a 1st for him?

Good thing you're not a GM

ESPN's Woj - "It's become increasingly likely that Marcus Morris will be elsewhere at the trade deadline. There's a significant marketplace for him. Both Clippers, Lakers are competing for him. Not just the opportunity acquire him, but to keep him away from your rival."

Woj ended this segment by calling LA an 'arms race' right now between the Clippers and Lakers trying to acquire Marcus Morris.

Lakers would need a 3rd or even 4th team to put together the salary needed, unless they want to send out Danny Green

Clips have Harkless they can send and pretty much get it done

Exactly. Cleveland wants assets. And right now is probably their only window of getting one for Thompson.

Keep em coming.

Can't see why GS would overpay for Morris. He seems like the perfect one year rental for a contender.

It would probably end up a Morris, filler and picks for Russel

And even with his non bird rights, they could give him around 18 million next season when they are contending

Unless the picks are very nice, I would rather keep Russell until at least the offseason.

It seems like GS won't find the market they thought they would for Russel. Minnesota was their best chance as they've been the team that's absolutely in love with D'Lo

They'll still be in love with him in the offseason and maybe other teams will jump in at that point when there is more flexibility.

That seems to be the consistent message from everyone. I do not think we do anything other than maybe try to unload Miller's contract to a team looking to get under the tax. The only other possibility would be Moore if we got a decent offer.

There's that

I think we still make a move using just Miller or Miller and Moore

I think most teams know that the Bucks are winning the East, and thus there is no reason for other East teams to do anything drastic to try to win it this year.

I think most teams know one of the LA teams is winning the West, and thus there is no reason for other West teams to do anything drastic to try to win it this year. Denver/Houston/Utah/Miami/Boston are all good teams, but they aren't beating a healthy Lakers/Cippers/Bucks this year.

This assumes all major players are healthy.

I also think since there are hardly any big FA's out there this summer, teams are going to be looking to make trades in the offseason, which will be easier to do b/c certain teams, like the Heat, can trade their 2020 pick in the offseason as opposed to now, and teams can make uneven trades salary wise in the offseason as well.

Things will be a lot easier in the summer. However, who thought Toronto would win the championship last year? I do not think those other teams are thinking that way.
