How about Ingram for Hayward and mark Williams? Get off Ingrams contract for an expiring Hayward who you could resign for allt cheaper and get your center of the future. Maybe a pick or two from chaotte and Bi goes home

I know this could never happen but I would love to do BI and whatever picks needed for Markkanen. He would work so well with Zion.

They have Brandon Miller whose playstyle is what we wish Ingram would evolve into. Why would they want Ingram? At some point these trade ideas need to have have some logic in it.

Ignore the Failure part as its only because we cant do this trade until after Dec 15th.

This would be a trade deadline type deal.

Wiseman is an expiring

Bojan is another bonafide 3pt Specialist for this year and next year (then very valuable expiring).

Jalen Duren is a great rebounding big who can help Zion down low when we go small.

Jaden Ivey is the PG we need.

Future: With the expirings you now have money to extend Trey / JV / CJ (you can probably add 2 years to his deal if he keeps playing this well)

The Pistons get their wing player of the future to go with Cade and Killian plus a pick to take our expiring and Larry Nance.

Oh the Pelicans can also sign Matt Ryan to an actual cheap deal now here to and avoid the Tax.

I don't think Ingram could pull Duren AND Ivey.

Is Trey a #2 option on a title contending team?

What I don’t understand about the logic for trading BI is he’s thought as not being a #2 option on a title team, but y’all are ok with getting solid players and picks for him?
The difference is usage and efficiency.

Trey Murphy averaged 15ppg in year 2 last season. There's no reason to think he can't be an 18-20ppg dude at his max, right?

We don't need him to replicate 24ppg of average to below average efficiency scoring like BI. Making him a #2 that can give you a MUCH better efficiency at 20ppg is better than what BI gives you.

I'm not saying it's a 1:1 comparison but much like Klay can be a #2 but not be an on the ball dude, Trey could do the same, with CJ being the 2nd facilitator but Trey being the 2nd best player.

Mainly my reply to you would be why can't Trey be a #2 and better than BI?

Zion is in year 5 . He’s never finished a season. A lot of risk in trading your second best player bc it’s not a perfect fit as of yet .

It adds zero additional risk though. If Zion gets hurt, we already know BI can't keep it going at even a .500 rate, so we're dead in the water without Zion whether BI is here or not.

Everything it would add offensively, it would give up that much defensively and rebounding.

Scoot's value should be a bit lower today than this offseason, amirite?

Yes yes and yes. Hell must have frozen over because I absolutely agree with you on all this. I don’t think BI is a bad player but overall this team will be better if BI leaves. Trey will flourish, more opportunities for Hawkins, better chemistry and not to mention the assets we recoup by trading BI.

Why would detroit make that trade? They are 2-18 and one of the worst teams in the league. If they make that trade they would still be awful but with less roster/cap flexibility when they sign Ingram to a long deal.

Ingram is a really good player, but really good players on max contracts only make sense for teams with a truly elite player looking for a number 2 guy to win a ring. In theory we could be that team but the Zion/Ingram pairing has yet to really launch.

Detroit makes a big trade like that because they just gave a coach 10 million a year and they also have control over all of their draft picks. They are desperate to start winning and winning fast.

What skill do you actually think is elite enough for him to stay in the NBA? I just don’t see it and ive seen some blazer games on league pass.

He has kept it going the last 2 seasons . He’s put the team on his back in both instances , one of which was the playoff series in which he was terrific .

If you are making the argument the BI won’t be worth his next contract and having some flexibility may help Pels improve in the future , I can see it .

But anti BI sentiment has swung too far and the idea of getting off of BI will help the team this year I do not understand .

I believe in this and if that’s the case- best time to trade him might be at trade deadline. But I think Griffin will give him a full year with Zion before making a decision.

I don't know the exact records, but I would bet we are below .500 or right around .500 with BI and no Zion since 2020. I would bet that our best record is with Zion and no BI. Our single best stretch of basketball since the AD trade was when BI was out last season pre Zion injury.
