Where Sabonis goes will heavily depend on his measurements at the combine. If he measures out with at least an average wingspan, he's going to go high. He has everything you want in a big man.

Your Houston comparison is terrible. Their games are not even remotely similar.

Dejonte Murray is a guy to keep an eye on
Murray scares me as he still has an underdeveloped body and plays out of Control right now. I think he has a lot of talent but will take 3 years before making an impact.
He's a guy I'd want to see go back to school for another season at the very least.

same goes for ZBo.
Sabonis lacks length and athleticism. Zbo had a a good wingspan and his game is fading from relevancy. Zbo aslo had about 20lbs and a consistent jumper on Sabonis. I don't know if Sabonis can really play 4 with his shot and lack of length. I just don't see the fit in Gentry's system.

Yeah, he could be more Tyler Hansborough, Mitch McGary than Zach Randolph. Maybe Mason Plumlee would be a better comp. Still think Sabonis carries more offensive polish, though. Doesnt fit gentry's system, but was more thinking BPA if our pick situation isnt ideal.
I want to see how he tests athletically at the combine. He moves better than yall think.
As for his length, he is similar in size (height/reach) (just talking size here before someone jumps off the handle) of Kevin Love, Blake Griffin, Jabari Parker, Sullinger, Troy Murphy, Mason Plumlee, Julius Randle, Cody Zeller, Ben Simmons
I think if he projects as a 4, he's probably not too undersized, length wise.

so who do you want to compare him too?
Houston isnt' a great one, i know. Houston has a high release point on his jump shot. His game was mainly 3's but he could still get to the rim without elite athleticism. That's where my comparison was. not elite athleticism, but still athletic and a great shooter.
hield shoots more like Curry than anyone. It's not really a push shot, but kind of looks like it, and they don't elevate like you see Redick and Ray Allen do.
I like this tidbit on Hield this offseason:
quote:
So when Hield decided to return for his senior season, he set about working on the remaining deficiencies in his game. The assessment from NBA types was that Hield needed work on his ball-handling and his shooting efficiency. He kept shooting, of course. Several hundred shots daily, including his favorite drill, which involves dozens and dozens of 3-pointers. He must make three consecutive shots from each of seven positions around the arc. Miss, and he goes back to the previous position. When he hits 21 in a row, the game changes: He has to hit 4 of 5 from five different spots, with the same one-step-back penalty. Then it’s 5 of 6 and 6 of 7. “It keeps me mentally focused,” he says. And if the drill made for “some rough days” in earlier years, “it’s a piece of cake now.”
I just don't see how he won't be a good NBA player.

Will Hield be more of a 2 forward or a 3 guard at the next level?

there's no 2 forward idiot, and he's too small to be a 3 guard.
I would have thought you would have learned what a 3 guard is by now.

Are you sure you watched Houston play? Allen was masterful with mid range and the post game. Whereas Hield is 3 ball or drive to the paint. I don't see the comparison at all.. really.

Hield showing off the arsenal...Great transition play, setting screens, backdoor cutting, steals, timely boards, using his presence to draw off defenders for teammates, assists, secondary assists, great off ball movement...Helped regain the lead doing everything but what he is known for doing.
Not sure how anyone can continue to see this guy isn't well rounded.
