re: Would y’all do a trade in which Blake Griffin was your return?

I don't want Griffin to be the centerpiece, but if you get him, #4, and Ingram plus extra picks, that is not a terrible haul.
Jrue, Griffin, Zion, Ingram is enough to get you a top 6 seed in the west. I do not like bottoming out with generational talent like Zion. As Zion is coming into his own, Jrue and Blake will be coming off their huge contracts, so you can hand the team over to him with a boat load of cap space.

Tatum, Smart, brown and #14. RJ, Knox, DSJ, Robinson and a future. Either of those I prefer

I am hoping Boston finds a way to get Beal for us and we take a Tatum/Smart/Beal package for AD.

It's 3 years left. Yeah it's a lot, but why does that matter to us over the next 3 years?
Actually the timing might be great. Jrue has 3 years left on his deal too. Have Jrue and Blake mentor Zion, Ingram, and whoever is picked at 4 for the next 3 years, and then hopefully turn the keys over to them at that point.
ETA: definitely not my first choice, but it would make some sense.

I'll be honest, i really don't care that much about Boston's picks, even the Memphis pick. I'd much rather #4 from the Lakers over the the Memphis pick.
If they could get us Tatum/Beal, i'd be happy, maybe get one of their 3 picks this year, like #20. That is the ideal trade for me.

Doesn't that create the same issue that caused problems for Tatum this past year? Jrue is high usage, Beal is high usage, Zion will probably be high usage, Tatum works best in high usage situations. There is only one ball to go around.

My answer is no. My ranking of the publicly discussed assets are below.
1. #2 pick in 2019
2. Jason Tatum
3. SGA
4. #3 pick in 2019
5. Brandon Ingram
6. Bradley Beal
7. #4 pick in 2019
8. Blake Griffin
9. Aaron Gordon
10/11/12 Jaylen Brown / Lonzo Ball / McCollum
13. Memphis pick
14. Miami unprotected
15+. Sac/Clips 2019, Future Clips pick, Gallinari, Smart, Shamet, future Lakers picks, Robinson, DSJ, future Mavs picks

Jrue was high usage due to the team we had around him, with better assets that isn’t a problem.
Another major problem for Tatum last year is that Kyrie, and to a lesser extent Brown, are “stop ball” players. They get the ball then they try to iso or just jack up a shot, not moving the ball to find the best man/matchup. This is what David Griffin wants to avoid in this team. Think of the Warriors, three (or more) great players, but they all get their touches and their shots.

That's a fair response. In theory, yes going very young could work and I'm definitely not completely opposed as I'm not crazy about helping the Lakers, but I personally feel that there is less risk with Blake/Ingram, could be my age lol

If Griffin is involved in the deal, the Pelicans should be getting a premium to take his contract. Detroit should not be the team getting Ingram or the #4 or any of the better assets in the deal.

I like your ranking for the most part, though I value Bradley Beal much higher than you do. I would probably move him up to 3, shifting everyone else down accordingly.

Bradley Beal should be moved to #1 on that list

I put him at number 3 because Ja has too much upside and is cost controlled for at least 4 years and Jayson Tatum is a proven lengthy wing who is also cost controlled for 2 years.
Present talent, Beal is head and shoulders above, but we are also paying for it. He’s number three for me, but only barely being pushed down.

Beal and Griffin are the two best players today, but I value age and positional length around Zion.

Could we somehow get Ingram, Beal and Griffin?
Jrue
Beal
Ingram
Zion
Griffin

Jrue
Beal
Ingram
Zion
Griffin

Third team should be between the Bulls or Pistons. Dark horse is Cleveland. I don’t see a scenario we’re wizards enter.

Due to GM timing, or conviction against trading Beal?

Whose the 2nd team?
