Free up the space. We're not doing anything of note next season anyway, play the long game for 2-3 seasons out, not next season
Or take on bad contracts with his salary to get assets. Griff should have done that from the get go Zions rookie year instead of going for Adams.,

Making decisions to win because of Z/ AD is way different than making decisions to win in spite of AD/ Z. This is not the same scenario.
I want the Pels to trade Z but he's worth more than 1-2 late 1sts and since we have leverage (he's on contract and we don't need him) then we can look for the right package instead of getting rid of him for expirings.

We don't free up space by trading Zion, stop saying this stupid shite. I'd rather a 40% chance of having someone come off the bench to put up 25pts in 25min than whatever tf $5mil in cap space will give us.
Getting rid of Z for expirings gives us barely any cap space. It would give us $30mil to extend players on our roster and we don't even have anyone that needs an extension for another 1-2 years. If you trade Poole/ Murray its only Bey for the next 3 years.
You have to trade Z for someone who needs that extension/ new contract or has similar salary/ impact in order for that to make any sense. That would instantly be more stupid or risky than any trade we've made the last few years.

More Zion Stockholm Syndrome!

He actually has an idea of something that could actually work. Most posters are just demanding a trade with no idea of a plan in place.
He clearly said he’s fine with a trade if we receive actual value. Trading him for a late 1st isn’t value. Nothing is wrong with surrounding our rookies with NBA veterans and letting them develop like that. As long as the plan is patience and not trying to acquire a bunch of win now pieces just to make the play in this year.

The last thing you want is for impressionable rookies with upside to be around Zion for multiple years.
You have to quit Zion to have any chance of starting anew.
The fact that you can't understand that is, frankly, astounding.

People’s views of Zion are backwards. Dude works hard. I’ve said previously, you don’t get his arms and muscle definition by not working out. He hits the gym hard. Also he seems to be a good dude from what everyone says. He has bad taste in women and is injury prone. But that’s a different conversation.

If the plan is to completely bottom out and tank for a draft pick then yes. We have no draft pick though. So trading him now does nothing in we aren’t getting a good offer. You don’t rush to trade him just because unless he’s causing issues inside the locker room.
Also, you don’t change the players until you see if a coaching change helps. Which is the major issue I had with the Ingram trade last year. You needed to see if it would work with someone that wasn’t Willie before you moved on. Which is why he should’ve been fired 2 years ago.

Dude, you said absolutely nothing just now. You said nothing basketball related, you said nothing about building the roster. All you said was trade Zion. Any person with any intelligence the 1st question they will have is trade him for what. A plan is needed. We are in New Orleans. This isn’t Los Angeles where we can get bailed out of mistakes just because of our market. Most players don’t want to live in New Orleans.

You asking for pics or something?
Posted on 12/26/25 at 6:46 pm to Broski
No pics needed. Just asking if you know how hard it is for muscle to show on someone that size.

Jesus Christ, you reeeeeally don't get it with Zion.

Are you going to just cry about Zion or do you want what’s best for the Pelicans? I’ve already said I’m fine moving him if we get proper value. It’s hard to take people like you serious if you’re going to complain about everything.

There are plenty of guys who are just naturally muscular.
If Zion actually worked hard he’d be better at basketball today. At no point in his nba career has he been better than his Duke self.
