Hopefully it’s not multiple weeks

Zion really takes basketball and his teammates for granted
Hell, we already saw what the result of him sitting out night 1 was
Dejounte Murray hero balled his way into an injury against a Cooper Flagg Sweepstakes team
The thing that is worse than usual about this season, is we don’t have J Val to carry Z’s sorry arse when he wants an off night 40 nights a year.

We were like .500 for a couple of months early on last year before they went in a run. .500 is fine right now while we wait for everyone to get back.

Like I said in the other thread, it's one thing for Zion to play in a back-to-back, as he did in Portland. It's another thing entirely to play a back-to-back when the last game is three games in four days.
The team was never going to play him both today and tomorrow, so they waited for a shootaround today and decided that today would be the day that he sits.

You have the worst takes.

But he was right about Collin Sexton!

Don’t you need to actually run fast to stretch your hamstring?
What a lazy fatass. Still ready to trade him.

Why the frick not? What are we risking at this point? It's year 6, ride his arse until the wheels fall off.

Every single game matters .
This idea that early season games count less is a farce .

The cost of one game to isn't going to be the end of the world compared to losing Williamson for the year. Playing .500 ball while you're limping into games is pretty ideal right now. Teams tend to make their runs post all star break. There were 3-4 Western conference teams who were hovering around .500 and ended up making their runs in the second half of the season.
Yea every game counts but there's 82 of them and there's some room for error.

This is where we disagree .
This team has 0 margin for error imo. That has been proven over and over .

The team has 0 margin of error if Zion sustains a significant injury. You're way too emotional about margin of error 2 weeks into the season.

Not emotional at all .
It’s the mantra of the organization .
Give away games before they even start to protect a player yet he misses plenty of games as it is .
It’s been proven year in and year out since Zion came into the league .
It all comes back to griff being a softy . Compassion , mindfulness , bla bla bla . Winning isn’t his top priority nor is it Zion’s.

This shouldn’t be a thing. Why are you worried about losing a guy for the season b/c of this? He might as well sit out every other game just in case so we can lower the possibility of season ending injury. Or maybe 2 out of every 3. Or maybe 2 weeks at time. Or maybe just sit out the first half of the season. Or maybe just sit out the season and wait for the playoffs.

Well it is. He had hamstring injuries the past 2 years. You don't risk anything hamstring related when it comes to Zion. Simple as that.
Posted on 11/3/24 at 7:10 pm to TeddyPadillac
Right, if you think Zion has to be treated with the kid gloves for every B2B or 3 in 4, you have to also think he book is closed on him ever being a #1 option.

I’m simply a realist brother
I see these dudes for that they are. And the majority of them on our team are guys that like basketball, love the money it brings, but don’t care that much if they lose.
Being a blind homer doesn’t get you brownie points
Zion doesn’t take his profession seriously and it consistently has a negative ripple effect throughout the organization

Lots of stars in the league normally don't play 3 in 4.
