Didn't San Fran jump us for Foster and everyone was pissed off (likely myself included) then we drafted Ram as the fallback? I could be misremembering.
I remember Foster saying he was on the phone with us and hung up because the 49ers called and said they were trading up for him. I liked Foster's talent a lot but remember there were concerns about how he tackled and his character. If I remember correctly, his talent shown immediately but so did the other things

Not limited to Saints Talk unfortunately. I just saw a comment on YouTube saying to keep Mickey completely away from this upcoming draft.

I remember my son telling me he thought AK was gonna be the steal of the draft, even before the Saints drafted him. He was pumped

My BIL wasn't happy about it. I was all stoked about the AK pick and for a few years after he would laugh and say how wrong he was.

Until it’s proven otherwise I’ll continue to believe Loomis only selects the people who select the players. That is a year round grinder 24-7 job. Mickey is not doing that crap.
I don’t think anyone thinks Loomis solely makes the personnel calls. Like you said, he’s responsible for the direct reports who vet these players. His main issue is his unwillingness to say he fricked up and to get rid of people (like Dennis Allen). Ireland and Parenton have mile long leashes. The draft classes and contracts put this org back half a decade, and it was going to take the exact type of draft class we had to pull us out of these mess. Namely the QB

True but why expect CEO's to say such things in any profession.

I don’t expect him to verbally, but I’d expect him to relieve them of their duties. That’s how any other profession would operate. The only difference is Loomis has carte Blanche

He must be the safest guy or damn close in the NFL CEO world

Your daily reminder Loomis was against firing DA

But I was against hiring him in the first place and fully agreed with firing him asap. So yeah he was an idiot for hiring and sticking with DA, but at the end of the day it's about correcting your mistakes, which he has.
