Good news. Maybe Sean and the rest of the FO actually do know what they’re doing. Probably why they make more than all of us combined.

I say this every fricking year and nobody listens. EVERY team has that young surprise RB that looked great in camp and preseason. And they almost never get claimed.
Plus they can sign him off our practice squad anytime they want to as long as they put him on the 53.

Excellent. I think he has great potential.

Unless we move him to the 53, this blocking the transaction.

Sure but teams we know we're not going to do that for at least a week. So they have time.

We can call him up whenever we want. So if another team does come calling and we want to keep him then we won't "wait at least a week."
We needed more bodies at OLine for practice this week (Peat is day to day and Bushrod was out), so come late tomorrow or Saturday it's very likely we call him (or Williams) back up for the game Sunday.

Why would we cut him, wait for him to clear waivers, put him on the practice squad and then call him back up, all in the space of a few days? We will call him up eventually but it won't be until next week at the soonest.

Because we had two Olinemen sitting out practice (or portions of it).
During the regular season you have your first time O up against your second team D and vice versa, so you need 10 Olinemen for practice.
Come Saturday Ola will be cut and a HB called back up (whether it's Scott or Williams).
I mean I literally told you that reason in the post you replied to.
Edit:
We did the same thing with Bryce Harris 20 times a couple of years back because we needed a practice body.
We'd cut someone during the week, get Harris for practice, cut him Saturday, and bring the other guy back.
