Not sure we can under value a guy who misses the games Breaux does.

Too bad Loomis doesn't work for another team. He'd probably give us a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him.

seems like a send the message type leak...it doesn't do much good to put out there you're shopping a guy because he's injury prone

If this is true I take it to mean a few things:

They must really like what they see from PJ and trust Moore and Crawley enough to fill in if needed.

Lattimore is about ready to go and looks talented enough to step in.

They feel Breaux can play and he refuses or they told him they were going to IR him and he got pissed because he thinks he's almost ready (think Lewis here).

But still you cannot trade a guy that can't pass a physical (and yes teams can pass a hurt guy, but if they are giving up a pick I don't think they will fake it).

And for the people saying the Saints should have known his injury history, what the frick do leg injuries have to do with a broken neck?

If he's traded I expect no more than a 5th. Even cheap, his injury history the last 3 years takes away that value and then some.

Edit:
Also makes me wonder about Amrstead's future if he gets hurt again next year or later this year. Ellerbe and now maybe Breaux. Payton seems feed up with these type of players.

armstead I could see them being frustrated but his don't seem like the type of injuries you expect him to try and gut it out through whereas with breaux there's an obvious disconnect there

He's worth peanuts on the open market. No one is giving up anything for him. PUP list incoming.

I would send out Breaux and a pick for a player if it meant that we could improve another position. There are still holes on this roster. Might as well try and fill it now.

I will rage if we trade one of our best corners for the shitty draft pick that we will get in return. Although he is injury prone, with the lack of depth we have any games are better than none

Too bad it takes CSP a long time to get fed up about things.
And if true he's gone traded or not.

I don't know what we could trade to be able to get say a #2 CB but if Breaux is good as gone I can only hope the Saints get it done somehow.

What are they going to get for him? A conditional 7th rounder? Bag of candy corn? Maybe a desperate team will throw in both?

The Eagles just gave up a 3rd + Jordan Matthews for Ronald Darby.

You're not going to get much. 5th at best imo.

He's worth more to us than that. But the reality is, he had one good stretch as a rookie and hasn't done shite since.

He sucked last year.

Payton has had enough of the constant injuries. He even made a comment the other day about "availability" being so important.

It's the same as with Ellerbe. It doesn't matter how good you are if you're never available.

They're fed up with it. So am I. It's a long list of guys that are just always nicked.

This is the exact pattern of Lewis and Ellerbe...

Armstead is on watch...

I don't think so. This guy has overcome waaaaaaay more than most.

More likely, Breaux himself is trying to set himself up for his only decent payday. And, that could be at odds with what the Saints want.

5th or 6th that can escalate if he plays in enough games

But prob will target another player to fill out a weak spot. Interior OL maybe a DT

Breaux is never available. He's a feel good story and all, but he's always hurt with some injury and I'm beginning to think he's a player who just won't or can't play through pain, and as a result the Saints are done catering to him.

Not many people have the endurance to play through high ankle sprains and broken legs lol.
My problem with Breaux is that he sucks horribly vs the deep ball. But, yeah, he needs to play in a bubble in order to complete a full season.

So a question about injury prone players like Breaux and Ellerbe...are they unlucky or do they make things worse on themselves by not rehabbing fast enough or choosing not to play when they are not 100%?

This has to stem from disagreements, between him and the team, on his injuries, rather than the injuries only. It isn't like the rest of our CB group are symbols of great health (Lattimore, Swann, Williams).

I don't know if a couple of years have changed team doctors' minds, but I know when he was first taking NFL visits out of the CFL that there were teams that would not sign off on his neck injury. If this is still the case, then that would also diminish his trade market.

Ronald Darby is a potential pro-bowler that has no major injury history in the league. Only missed 3 starts in two years.
