He will be back this season.

A player on injured reserve this year can return to practice after three weeks. Once a team activates a player from injured reserve, it has 21 days to return him to the active roster. These players may not practice with their team at any time, but can attend team meetings and be around the team.
I am confused on why they wouldn't put him on IR. But they did the same with Thomas so they must have their reasonings.

Now we know why Drew was as pissed as he was postgame. They all knew this by then.

Sucks, but I think he will be back by December or the playoffs. You know how tough he is an how much he cares about the Saints, he will try to rally for his final season. And Brady had the record anyway, he has like 3 more years left while Drew is on his last leg.

Thought I saw him tearing up on the sideline in the second half...
Or he may have been suffering from 5 broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

“Hey, Adam, make sure to include in the tweet that he has a collapsed lung. You know, for the drama!”
I just mean it sounds a lot worse than it really is. Collapsed lung makes it sound like he’s dying. In reality, it’s not a season ender.

That's gotta be brutal to play through

According to google, a collapsed lung takes a couple weeks to heal at worst and couple days at best. The cracked ribs is the more serious problem.

I'd bet on a Minny return

Yeah collapsed lung showed 2 weeks and fractured ribs showed 6 weeks.

Talking about helping this season on the sidelines instead of going on IR
Posted on 11/16/20 at 2:16 pm to tigersquad89
Not the end of the world. He will be back by the Chiefs game. It sounds worse than it is. The ribs will take longer to heal than the lung.

They said a rib punctured the lung. Just read that in an espn article.

at least 6 weeks to heal

Posted on 11/16/20 at 2:16 pm to PUB
If its a sure three weeks I don't know why they wouldn't put him on IR as it would get us another roster spot.

I think they were hoping to get MT back sooner as he was 2-4 weeks, Brees seems like a no brainier since 4 weeks is probably the minimum.
Question is, do they bring back Stevens or try to bring in a vet?
