You are right Ginn has not been clutch this year but he is known for not being a sure handed receiver! The reason Drew not tacking shots is 1- it’s not there and 2- and the main reason is he knows he has a defense so why take the risk.

To a degree, yes. He's no slouch for sure, but sometimes it's the little things. For instance on a screen to Kamara around the 3rd quarter he hits him a bit behind breaking his stride. Because of it Kamara only picks up maybe a yard with a one on one. If he's hit in stride then he may be able to make that man miss and turn it into a big gain. Hitting his receivers in perfect position in stride was what he used to do so well so consistently. Again he's still a top notch qb, but to say he hasn't dropped off even just a little bit seems wilfully ignorant

I think he has lost some strength and accuracy

He is literally leading the league in competition % for the 3rd season in a row and on pace to break his own record. He has completed over 71% in every game played in full (only 5 passes against the Rams)

Look, I agree with the OP. I was saying the same thing about the accuracy of his deep balls. It wasn't only the two to Ginn(one Ginn should have caught), but he was off on some other deep balls, 20 plus out patterns, and some over the middle. His accuracy is falling off a bit. It is easy to lead the league in completion % when you only go deep a few chances a game and the rest are dumps, short passes, or up the middle gashes.

Little bit of this. His accuracy is still great within 20 yards of line of scrimmage. It’s when it starts getting to 25 yards & beyond where he’s falling off some. Look at our passing chart breakdown, we have maybe 1 throw a game beyond 25 yards. Not saying being 70+% accurate within 20 yards is easy, Drew has spoiled us with that ability and that’s why he’s an all time great and other starting QBs in the league cannot do that.

But even the deep ball he dropped perfectly to Ginn was only 35 yards passed line of scrimmage and Drew was able to take 3 steps up into that throw. He won’t have that 3 step luxury often. His high throw to Cook over the middle and one to Thomas on last drive did however have some speed on them, but those are less often than ones where it looks like his arm is lacking.
Still glad to have him as our QB, and felt that last drive when all we needed was a FG was essentially money in the bag because he is our QB

You just be glad there's a new thread on Saints talk because the traffic volume is pathetic.

If you have some better topics to start, go right ahead buddy.

I actually thought his arm looked better this past weekend than it has in a while.

Drew will pick a defense apart with accuracy from 20, maybe 30 yards...but his deep balls are just about gone. Think how many times in the past year or so that the receivers overrun the deep pass from Drew. That's not them overrunning as much as it is Drew underthrowing regularly.
But it is what it is and we love him regardless cause he can still win games for us!

I don't think you understand how the word "literally" really works.

Yes I think it's been 3 years or so he started underthroeing the deep ball.

Ginn has also dropped just as many.
