Bobby Hebert said it was ribs and that he will most likely be out until Philly game. That was his opinion, based on being an NFL QB playing through a rib injury.

Also, from SI - they think the ribs is coverstory for bad shoulder.

Drew Brees Sidelined: He was shaken up on a sack when he landed on that increasingly balky right shoulder (the play drew a pity roughing flag, by the way) in the second quarter. The Saints, somewhat unconvincingly, called it a rib injury. Brees stayed in for the remainder of the second quarter, but it was Jameis Winston under center to start the second half.

If it was cracked ribs, he wouldn’t have come out, suited up, in the second half. I’m betting it’s bruised cartilage between the ribs. I’ve had both injuries and cracked ribs, I couldn’t even breathe. Bruised cartilage, I felt better 3 days later but I’m not an NFL player.

Good insight. Thanks.

i'm not an MD so i could be wrong but he fell HARD on an already hurt shoulder

it would be kind of sad if "injured shoulder" was Brees's bookend for NO

It might be both but it was definitely a rib or back with the way he was walking when he got up from that hit.

This sucks....i was hoping to get a few more battles against Brees before he rode off into the HoF sunset.

hope he heels up for the second game in ATL but that is only three games away.

Unfortunately, it looks like you may have to hope for a "'21 farewell tour" to get a shot at playing against Bres one last time.
