Don’t think you do unless carr and offense stays solid and have a couple behind him to help carry the load.

Great back but Father Time always wins.

His market value and bargaining power has greatly increased the past two weeks.

Honestly, today's athletes seem to be able to stretch a little further. Also years of Imgram helped keep the mileage off AK. If he's willing to sign a Derrick Henry type deal, I'm all for it, but if he's wanting closer to 20mill, get Henry Parrish Jr ready to be drafted by us in round 3-4

Remember when Payton tried making Travaris Cadet a thing for years?
payton doesnt run the type of offense Kubiak does. He is boring old school.

Why is McCaffery paid $19mm per season by Shanahan if that’s the case?

McCaffrey is paid by name only. He WAS good but now hurt. Jordan Mason says hello. He has done a hell of a job for injured CMC

quote:

Why’d Payton use a 2nd overall pick on Reggie if they’re that common?

And proceeded to draft pitman and sign Pierre Thomas as an undrafted FA the following year.

Scat backs are easily replaceable. Year in and year out within the type of offense college teams run these days

I personally feel Kamara could line at WR every down and be a good WR also.

I think we’ll have to let Latt go with AK playing like this

Players best ability is availability. Lattimore Only playing in 17 games since 22 isn’t worth his contract.

Have we learned nothing over the past few seasons.

The time to throw large contracts at aging veterans (no matter how they play right now) has to stop.

We do not have a replacement of on the roster currently but that doesn't mean we should panic and make more bad contract decisions.

The salary cap is trending in the right direction...... HOLD THE LINE....

If that’s all you think Kamara is then you need to put down the pipe and watch closer

Again. Shanahan and Kubiak have proved this type of back is key to making this offense be elite and championship level

If shaheed keeps it up he’s holding out next year
How does ramczyk contract hurt
Will saints take a hit
Sounds like he didn’t retire just to help out cap this year

Shaheed signed his extension in July, he isn’t holding out next season

Ram will do us a favor and not retire next season hopefully

That said, Adebo is a problem also since he’s a UFA. Both Adebo and Young need to be retained

This statement is not true at all. You're only using 2 examples when there are plenty more within that offensive system.

Take the Rams, who learned their lesson about overpyaing for a RB early in the McVay tenure (Gurley). Now they're rolling with a 2nd year guy on a cheap rookie contract, with another rookie backing him up.

Also, the KS 49ers made a Super Bowl with Raheem Mostert at RB. Mostert plays in the same system now, behind a guy on a rookie deal.

The 49ers redid CM's contract this year to kick can. It will likely be seen as a -EV move in time, unless they win a SB in the next 2 years or so.

I'm sure Ram would do another deal like we did this year, but I don't know if the NFL is going to let us, b/c it's basically manipulating the cap via dishonesty.

Everyone knows Ram is done. We can pretend he's trying to come back for 1 year, but 2 is a stretch.

They gave him more money, how is that kicking the can?

ETA - The Rams are going to miss the playoffs and SF looks pedestrian without CM

If shanahan wants to pay a RB $19mm per season who are you to say it’s a stupid idea? You’ve been dead wrong about Carr all this time but won’t ever admit it

Now, is it ideal? Absolutely not. I think he should take his $15mm and be happy. If it came down to Young or Kamara, I’d go Young

And Kendre Miller is supposedly perfect for the zone scheme. Maybe we get to see him this year. Then you draft another guy next year

I love Kamara but the saints would be foolish to reup him. Money is still going to be tight, you’re going to want to retain Chase Young and Adebo, maybe give Shaheed a new deal. And you still need to make investments in the trenches and at TE and WR

Look at his cap hit before and after the deal. That's literally the only reason they re-did his contract.

quote:

The Rams are going to miss the playoffs

Because of injuries. They made the playoffs last year with a mash unit, no Kupp, and a rookie RB.

That was their rebuilding year, too.

quote:

Mason is doing just fine.

I clearly said, if they don't win a SB in the next 2 years it will be seen as -EV. They're already eating shite on that move right now. 1 year of health doesn't make CMac durable.

quote:

?You’ve been dead wrong about Carr all this time

Also not true.

The most important thing about Kamara's contract is we can cut him, pre-June 1, and save a bunch of money. It's one of the few contracts on our roster that is like that. I don't think that's a coincidence.

My other, more detailed post

quote:

These are the void hits we have in 2026:

AK: 6M
Cam: 14.9M
Hill: 9.7M
Davis: 8.7M
TM: 7.2M

Total: 46.5M

This is if we don't restructure their 2025 base salaries. Here are those splits (base/cap)

AK: 22.4/29.1
Cam: 12.5/20.1
Hill: 10.0/17.986
Davis: 6.5/12.5
TM: 6.3/11.3

Remember, we're already $81.5M over the 2025 cap. We are going to have to restructure guys and kick can. We can't cut them all post-June 1, due to Carr's cap hit in 2026 and our 2026 cap situation, and only AK has a positive cap impact if we cut him pre-June 1.

I think it's very likely this is AKs last year in Nola

Saquan can definitely catch and is more talented than Kamara.
