But to answer the original posters question, draft a rb next year and roll with him + Miller. We have too many guys up for new contracts to pay a rb.

i don't think we're gonna be keeping hardly anyone. be a few restructures, including carr again, and some pre and post june 1st cuts.

we save 18mil by cutting kamara. i know the cap can be manipulated into perpetuity to a degree, but we're in worse shape than we've ever been.

I like AK he`s an excellent RB one of best in the league. But he has an
ingenious way of staying healthy over his career, its called running out of bounds even when if he would cut back in he could gain alot more yards.
Those lack of hits has given him longevity in the NFL.

Agreed, but at the same time moving a few key pieces can get it back to manageable. Per OTC $81.4M over. Trade AK & Latt saves $29.7M, set-up Ram as a post 6/01 retire saves $18M, Carr restructure could save $31M which would then have them about $2.7M over the projected $277M cap for 2025.

I am also sure that if Ram is going to retire, they will manipulate it similar to what they did with Brees which will save even more. And that Carr restructure is what OTC put out there, there could be a few more million squeezed there as well.

Still a shitty situation that Loomis put this organization in with him chasing that "1 missing piece" every year, but if they are willing to make drastic moves it may finally be "fixed"...until we sign that next missing piece.

post june 1st cuts can't be used to get under the cap, but i agree with you pretty much. i think AK will be cut, can't imagine anyone would trade for him with that price tag. once we squeeze under, i think there will be several post june 1st cuts and retirements just so we can re-sign a few guys and pay for the draft class. i've accepted the cuts/trades, but i'm most worried about resigning adebo and young. i'm not sure we can keep both and maybe not either one.

I say let him walk after this year. He only plays well when a big contract is on the line. You can see it in his body language

Honestly, as much as I love AK, not sure it's worth it throwing him big money since he's 29. Most running backs in the league start to decline when they reach 27-28.

Regarding Latt, he's gotta go. His contract takes up too much cap for someone who generally misses 3-4 games a season. we also have a certified replacement in adebo, who has looked pretty damn good.

we should try to draft a RB this year as a replacement for AK, or try to look for one in a trade this offseason.

How do you know?

It’s a long season. Let’s see how AK holds up and is playing at the end of the year, and see if Miller can come back and anything close to what we thought we were getting.

If Miller sucks, I wouldn’t be opposed to drafting 2 RBs in the mid rounds. If Kubiak is still here, give him input on who he thinks best fit his system. We can cut Williams after this year, right? I just don’t see paying 30-year-old, disgruntled AK $15 million for 1 season. Don’t want to get stuck being on the hook for him in ‘26 or ‘27 when he could really fall off a cliff.

Just too early and way too much season to go to really know how that room is gonna look in ‘25, certainly not beyond that. We’ll see what they do, but right now, too many moving parts to give an educated guess.

Kamara isn’t disgruntled. If you listen to his interviews he really wants to be here and loves the city

Offer him a 2 year deal that incentive laden, if he takes it good. If not you let him walk and thank him for his time here. You can't over pay a aging RB. Especially with the cap issues this team has. First thing is first, lockdown Shaheed and Chase Young then worry about Alvin.
