I mean he was good when he was working towards a payday.

And I mean since he got that payday he doesn’t really give a frick anymore.

That clear enough??

And again. Just my opinion. Youre welcome to yours. But the nfl is a ‘what have you done for me lately’ league. And Thomas and been far more detrimental than helpful the past two years. Hopefully that changes.... but if I were the GM. I’d take what I could get.

You do realize after he got paid in March of 19' and WHEN HEALTHY he had his 149 receptions following that extension?

Its like you guys dont like Thomas (and with some valid reasons ill give you) but you distort the facts to fit this narrative.

Does he need to step it up and get back to that level? Of course. But we have not had a fully healthy Thomas in quite a while. Lets at least see what this team looks like with capable WRs

Ok.

But I don’t feel like the fact that there’s fifty other WRs I’d take in his place right this second is a distortion. But that’s just me.

He isn’t worth what he’s paid now. In my opinion. He was then. Not now.

At the end of the day the best bet right now is for him to resemble what he was before the injury. The team wont be getting back near the talent we'd be sending out and it would be costly to do it... So what is the benefit?

Maybe down the road after he builds up his value and it cost less to trade him than sure. But at this point in time it just makes zero sense.

I feel like your operating under the fact that Brees is still running the offense and throwing the ball. He’s not. But yea, at this exact point in time... maybe not. But I don’t think looking at trades for Thomas is at all a bad thing. Just afraid his value is only going to decrease.

Winston isn’t nearly as accurate and that won’t play to Thomas’ strength. Assuming Thomas wants to actually play some football at some point.

The only person who can change my mind is Thomas.

Um, what? How did you come to that conclusion? Winston is no Brees in terms of accuracy but he aint Mitch Trubisky either.

How exactly can his value decrease? He already has the reputation of an injured malcontent. Which brings me to my next question who would trade for him at this point? You are severely limiting his value by taking the "just dump him" approach.

Winston is having his best year thus far having Harris and Callaway and nothing else. You really dont think a guy with Thomas catch rate will help?
There really is no point in having a discussion if you think Winston cant get Thomas the ball

Holy shite you're clueless. He had a top 10 season in NFL history AFTER he got paid.

You are a retard. Please never post again.

Our team is pulling fans from the stands to play receiver and you want to trade our hall of fame level receiver away when he’s about to return? You really can’t find this level of stupid very often.

You are correct, usually if someone gives a frick, they would have surgery right after the season is over to make sure they are ready for the season and earn their money. Not a few weeks before the first games start……

In 2023.

Jets will still suck but that's a better QB class. We'll be able to draft a world beater, or if Jameis is the answer, trade the pick.

No, you trade them for 2022 picks and maybe a pick for 2023 but it won't be a first. Then, if there aren't any players you absolutely love, you trade that pick for a 2023 first and some change to pick up more picks as well.

So he spoke out against Brees because he had a different opinion and didn't care for what Brees had to say. I don't agree with Thomas, but it is his right to speak when he disagrees with what someone says; even if it's a leader.

He then comes out and has a good game against TB. Is injured when the game is out of hand while blocking for his RB, again while they game is basically over. Tries to fight through the pain/injury and has a terrible season as as result. He very easily could have just checked out after that 1st game and no one would have questioned his toughness considering surgery was on the table. He then tries to rehab his ankle as his doctor gives him the medical opinion that he can rehab and avoid surgery. The rehab doesn't work, and has surgery. He F*ed up big time by not keeping the team up-to-date; but it is his right to try to rehab to see if he can avoid surgery if the medical opinion he received from someone he trusts says it could work.

Since the surgery, he has been with the team when he can as he has been focusing on his rehab.

TL/DR: He disagreed with Brees, injured in first game blocking for a running play when game was basically done, tried to play through the pain/injury because it was Brees last year, then tried to rehab to avoid surgery (it didn't work). And, this makes him a distraction and "checked out"

By the way, all of the above does not include the fact that he had one of the best years of any WR the year AFTER he signed his big contract while playing in a system where the defense keyed in on him and a QB that could not consistently stretch the field.

We all want MT13 to come back strong for the Saints and we hope that MT13 feels the same way.
