Hire this guy immediately!
He had a 6-10 year to start and did awesome after that. I dont think we'll find a better guy. Plus he wont have J Jones breathing down his neck.

I'm actually starting to come around to this as well. I'm shocked. I wish he'd at least get on Ozympic - I dislike looking at his grotesque face and body

Lol. Jerry screwed up the deal with McCarthy and now he has worse candidates than the saints. He is going to settle on Brian Schottheimer as his next first time HC experiment.

Dude made Aaron Brooks look serviceable, won a Superbowl with Rodgers, and is the only coach to actually do anything with Dallas in the last 30 years. We could do FAR worse.

The '24 Saints, when at full strength, were a pretty good team. Unfortunately our entire salary cap was dedicated to the starting 22+Grupe, so any injury left us with a barely serviceable backup

There is/ WAS actually some talent on the Cowboys.
If McCarthy couldn’t do anything with the talent per Deep playoff runs… he should be fired.
Main Problem with the Cowboys is the owner…
Cowboys are no longer a deep talented playoff team.
Saints have little to no talent….. McCarthy would have a serious problem here if he can’t coach talented teams.

McCarthy called the offensive plays and the team looked awful in the playoff game against GB last season and during the first 5 or 6 games this season before injuries.
Saying he was 12-5 recently and therefore is a good hire is whistling through the graveyard.

The reports from @Rapsheet on X was that he and Jerry Jones never even got to a point of talking about the contract.
If I had to guess based on further reports from the same is that there is kind of a power struggle going on in Dallas right now between Jerry and his sons. They seem to be the driving forces in Brian Schottenheimer getting the job. Maybe there was some issues with them and McCarthy.

Baby steps. The Saints need to learn how to crawl again. Championship and all that are just a dot on the horizon right now.
