Also, do not pay on a second contract for Etienne….:mistake.

You cannot possibly know this without knowing what the cost of that 2nd contract will be. Even if it's higher than a rookie contract, you are paying for a proven player...as long as it's not significantly higher

I’d also look at Greenard off the Vikings. He’s on the trade block and is very good. They’ll eat some of his salary I’m sure.

Why is Minn trying to unload him, and why are they so interested in moving him that they'd take on some of his salary?

Injured last year and to shed salary. Think they are having salary cap issues. Plus rumors he wants a pay raise.

Just saw they are $46.5M over the cap, so weird seeing a team being further over the cap than the Saints. He's on the books for $22.15M ($18.4M in salary) this year, and $22.3M ($18.4M in salary) next season.

Because they may be trying to shed cap, they may not be willing to eat some of that salary. But Mickey could make the deal and convert $15-17M of that salary into a bonus to drop his cap hit from $18.4M to $5-6M. But the bigger question is, what would it take to get him?

I’ve heard Florio talk about this in relation to Tua where a possibility would be the team with the cap issue gives draft compensation and the player TO the other team for taking the money

Kind of figured it would be defense at 8. WR at 42. IOL with the 3rd round pick.

We should not draft a single OL. Spend the picks on every other position and use every cent of salary on proven OL depth.

I'd rather grab Downs/ Styles/ Delane Rd 1, draft a WR rd 2, and then go DL for our next 5+ picks than draft any OL.

Sign 2 starters and resign Fortner. frick 3rd, 4th, 5th rd OL.

Walker all day!

I agree. I am not as big on Etienne as some others are. I don’t mind him, but he’s not the EXPLOSIVE playmaker that we really need. Walker fits that bill more so.

Really Love fits that mold more than anyone in FA

The Saints don't think like this.

They try to cover as many needs as possible in FA and then go BPA with need factored in in that draft

They don't say "We are picking Defense" in March

Will be the smartest thing they do. He's just not that good.

Look at you going out on a limb and finally putting something down. I’m proud of you.

Agree. Wouldn’t be surprised if someone falls in love with Ty Simpson and jumps into top 10 for him.

This is the hot prospect right now. I mean it could be smoke but who knows. I hope they take all QB's with the first five picks Also, how awesome is it knowing we have our QB? Freaking fantastic!

Our bench sucks. This past season showed that. If we can improve the bench via later round pics please do.

My hometown team and that is the buzz here. I agree. Unless it’s intentional smoke.

Anything is possible but Loomis on camera recently saying he doesn’t like to trade back. He said why would he trade for a worse player.

Now maybe KM can talk him into it

I would rather Eli Stowers in the 3rd than Sadiq in the first.
