Bill Cowher coached the Steelers for something like a decade while his family lived in Raleigh, North Carolina. Even if this news is true, I'm not sure it's the freak-out worthy event some of you think it is.

IIRC Dungy's family stayed in Tampa Bay while he went to Indy.

the guy makes like 4-5 mil a year...do you HONESTLY think they're going to public schools ANYWHERE?

That's money well spent on a house in Highland Park where the kids could attend Highland Park High School (you know... the one whose facilities the Packers were using all week ).

If Payton leaves...we are fuc@#ed. If Drew goes down..we are really screwed !! The Saints fans better start saying their Rosaries. Otherwise, it might be SuperBowl 80 before we sniff a championship again.

His son was not mentally well. The rest of the family lived fine and the younger son now has a football scholarship at...Oregon is it?

If my child could get the same education in a Dallas public school as in a New Orleans private school

He lives on the northshore and his daughter goes to SSA and his son will/would probably go to St Pauls. both very good private schools.

FWIW - Highland Park HS is ranked #38 (of 1623 public & private) in the country by Newsweek in 2010. Pretty much every service which provides a national rating/ranking puts them in the top 50 nationwide annually. The highest ranked in Louisiana is Ben Franklin (magnet school) in New Orleans at #163.

Private and Parochial (and all-boys/all-girls) - Not everybody's cup o' tea.

Good info, nonetheless. Wasn't aware of where they lived. My mom taught at Mandeville for a few years a while back.

ok...it's still High School though, even if it is slightly better than St. Paul's or SSA, the money is a non factor, and the difference in education in negligible. I can't see why you would separate a family and buy a house simply to go to a decent HS.

And that actually caused Payton to have to respond to the rumors? There has to be more to it than that
