They've cut 4th round and beyond. Trying to remember if they ever cut a 3rd (was Woods a 3rd?).

3rd round and higher is more of an investment and they usually give those guys longer to develop. 2nd round much more so than 3rd and 1st obviously much more than 2nd.

No way JB gets cut this year. Now next year if he still isn't adjusting I could see it.

Also a positive injury update on Jairus Byrd. Payton said he's waiting to be officially cleared bit thinks he'll be full go tomorrow

So that's why he likely wasn't out there. Off someone getting cleared. Or this is Payton's way of saying he's dead.

Also Woods was a 4th rounder too. Oddly enough he isn't in our draft history on nfl.com

Alleman was probably our worst 3rd rounder and I think even he got a year or two with us.

you guys following training camp by the minute are terrifying. PT tore his ACL, just kidding hes back in. Byrd is probably fricked. Oh wait, hes probably a full go tomorrow.

talk about knee jerk reactions.

I was more worried about PT because a guy like that knows his body pretty well by now and that wasn't a good reaction from him.

Byrd was more confusing because he had been progressing so for him not to be out there sent mixed signals.

I try not to overreact to most of these things. Like Brees I knew it was likely extra caution. But when a guy walks off after yelling it more often than not is very serious.

But yeah, I get your point.

Soon.

That's what Galette told me anyway.

More serious answer is we signed a long time vet to come in and you usually sign younger guys if you think it's short term injury. Being that he has still yet to even see the practice field doesn't help that notion.

Also Austin Johnson has also looked pretty good so far so it wouldn't be a big loss imo. I like what Lorig brings to the table but this is just a part time position.

Didn't they draft a RB from Ohio State in the 3rd once and cut him in training camp? I forget his name...

Yeah Pittman wasn't a third. And we cut him to keep Pierre which rustled numerous jimmies at the time but LAWL in hindsight.

Pittman was a 4th, as was Al Woods.

i was just joking about SBJ. they aren't cutting a 2nd round pick. if they do, they should fire Loomis

So he did. I didn't rewatch it yet(and feel asleep in the 3rd quarter and missed some of the 4th).

But he really needs to turn that head(or stick closer to the receiver to read his hands better). It just seems to be a very common theme with him.

Definitely not saying we should give up on him or anything. I knew he was a project when we took him.
