Did we see a lack of touches for the RB due to poor offensive line play or lack of confidence in the o-line?

I feel like with Fuaga on one side and Banks on the other, getting the ball to the outside would be a better option than the ole 'up the gut' attempt. Plus, I feel as though Kamara, Neal and Miller would have more longevity this way.

Screen plays, draw plays seem to be a better fit for what we currently have at our disposal.

Hard to say, but they were playing behind the sticks a lot with the presnap and O-line penalties.

Ruiz (36.5) & Fuaga (41.5) were your worst graded players per PFF. The right side of our line was probably a lot to blame

I think if we get Penning back running left could be pretty strong with Banks/Penning/McCoy

It's the first game of the season for the rebuild.

The goal is to set the baseline (Which they did Sunday and should reset each Sunday) and improve each week.

This season will not be judged by wins and losses (as far as I'm concerned). It is or should be about improving the roster and culture of the team and identifying core of your roster for next 5-12 years.

The wins will come. It's a rebuild and it is more complicated than rebuilding your team on some gaming system.

Bottom line is for the money we have soaked into the OL we don't see a cohesive unit that is close to effective. It's really sad.

the right side may have struggled but that was the side that Kamar scored on.

it was a RPO play where it looked like they had a nice read on what Arizona was going to do. Ruiz and Fuaga both had their guys boxed out.

I thought at times the Saints ran the ball pretty fricking good.

just look at the team average 4.9 yards.

Rattler also contributed to that with 4 carries for 29 yards.

Rattler got sacked only once.

The Saints D sacked Murray 5 times.

Penning being out hurts the run game. He's questionable at times in pass pro but he can be a road grader at times in the run game. Ruiz is pure arse.

I think Ruiz could be an above average Center … but we have McCoy who is Pro Bowler material.

Fuaga played like dogshit. Alot of missed blocks. His replacement wasn't any better

It’s crazy …. Fuaga is a natural right tackle but played better on the Saints left side (last year) …than he’s playing at his natural right tackle side this year !!

He should improve as year draws out though.

I don't know if he's injured or what but he wasn't good.

I don’t think he’s healthy. He barely played in the preseason and Josh Sweat isn’t an easy first assignment.

It really is sad, but at the same time we did chnage 60% of the o-line. You have Banks as a rookie, Penning in his 3rd (and final) position in 3 years, McCoy, Ruiz, & Fuaga in his 2nd position in 2 years. It takes time to become cohesive; which makes it more difficult when McCoy doesn't take live snaps in the preseason and Penning missed the last 2 weeks of preseason and so far W1 of the regular season.

If we do ever get the starting 5 together for more than a few drives, it will be interesting to see if we need to spend more high draft picks here again. Need to at elast invest the 2nd or 3rd rounder on a new guard...may need 2
