Among others. From Ian Rap:

quote:

The #Saints  have a busy end to this week and beginning of next week, sources say, as they hope to add to their interview list by speaking a second time, in-person, with Joe Brady and Kellen Moore.

Add those to Mike McCarthy, Anthony Weaver, and Mike Kafka. And maybe more.

Give me Brady. High risk high reward situation. If he sucks then he helps us tank and rebuild for the next regime, not really that bad considering where we are currently. If he’s good then we have our next great HC. I think we need to take a shot on someone that has potential to be great and I think Brady has that. We need a young great offensive mind and he fits the mold.

McCarthy would be a better hire. Brady’s only body of NFL work involves a generational talent at QB, that he didn’t even develop. I’d rather a former HC with winning experience working around shitty owners and GMs.

if we hire anything thinking we’re going to win next season ita a complete disservice.

if i was a young Coach id basically make sure that’s understood before i accept.
otherwise id say “call me when the next guy fails if im still available”

There is a lot of love in these parts for Joe Brady, but I think I would rather Kellen Moore. Without him, you saw how atrocious the Cowboys can be. Conversely, with the Eagles he revitalized the offense. People forget that towards the end of the 2023 season, the Eagles offense was a basket case.

Brady shared a lot of time with other assistants at LSU and was really utilized for 3rd Down calls. He shite the bed in Carolina actually beating Matt Rhule to the unemployment line. He's good with really good QBs like Allen and Joe Burrow. In the case of Allen he has a monster on his hands in a good way. But Allen was proving to be really good before Brady showed up. I'd temper my enthusiasm for him....I'd also slow my role for Moore but not as much.

I'd get McCarthy a job on a pre-game show before I would hire him

I'll always take a shot with a fresh offensive mind over a stale retread. Joe Brady gives off 2006 Sean Payton vibes.

Seems like the Jags are now pivoting to Brady. With their GM Baalke fired (the owner learned from the failed attempt to hire Coen) I’d expect it to leak soon that Brady prefers the Jags for all the reasons we know.

Brady comes off pretty timid and reserved, a beta if you will. Not sure he has the dog CSP had

Brady makes the most sense.

Boom or Bust.

Next era guy or bottom out and truly start over.

Him always being in the booth has me cautious. At 35 years, he’s going to be patrolling the sideline in the thick of it, responsible for the whole game plan. Do you
Think this is an issue, Ed?

If I was Brady, I wouldn't take the Saints job to be my first HC job. With their cap and roster issues, the Saint's are not set up for success over the next three years and because of that whoever the next head coach is being set up for failure and will be fired in 3-4 years. I like Brady and really don't want to see that happen to someone with his potential.

That’s my read on him too. I could be wrong.

Also, has he ever been on the sideline? Has he ever been in a players or refs face? I feel like he’s always been a booth guy.

I don't think this is that much of a big deal. I'm sure he engages in plenty of interactions with the players during practices and meetings. I'm sure he's not scared to speak his mind when needed.

Rizzi yelled at a player during a game and gets visibly upset over perceived bad calls. What does that mean, it doesn’t make him a better or worse coach

I don’t think being on the sideline will be a big issue.

I do think he would be crazy to take the job though, it’s basically suicide

I get what you’re saying with the Cowboys and Eagles, but I think the Eagles offensive improvement has less to do with Kellen and more to do with Saquon Barkley. I think this is a case of having the right Jimmys and Joes than Xs and Os. It’s not like Jalen has made an improvement. It’s been entirely the addition of Saquon. The games they played without Saquon they sucked again.. And every big win they have there is Saquon ripping a huge run.

No he doesn’t. Payton was a control freak who did things his way. Brady consults with his players on what to run. That works when you have a generational talent at QB.

The Saints are 3 years away from doing anything meaningful and a young coach would be an idiot to come into a situation where he’ll get fired.
