Even in the "strong" positions there is a lack of elite talent outside of OT probably. Lots of good WR/DE prospects but no great ones.

If somehow Sting fell to us I'd lose my shite in happiness, though (like when Latt fell to us).

And it’s not win now when you can get your 1st rounder for five years on a rookie deal. Especially for a team who will need to maneuver the cap. Cap will only go up too

Y’all see what these WR and OTs are getting on an open market?

It is risky if we bottom out, but I don't see many scenarios where we don't make the playoffs. If our pick winds up being #20, next year, it is good value. If the 3rd is the comp pick, it is basically an early 4th

WHAT

Someone explain this trade to me like I'm 5. I don't get it.

Jumping the chiefs to get big boy out of Georgia.

Big boy, davenport, onyemata, and Jordan are the #1 line in the league. We can run a 4-7 if we'd like.

I mean elite prospects do not really fall into the positions that the Saints have drafted in under Payton

I think they are trying to supplement lack of FA additions with an extra 1st rd draft pick here. Don’t love it but I can live with it.

The thing is that we made this move so early and we didn't get a discount for that. We paid market rate for a move up when we have no idea how the board is going to unfold. There may be a run on OTs or WRs (or both) that makes us have to use a 1st on one of the shitty QBs this year....or that all-world C

I’ll bet they already are targeting trading 16 and 19 to get in the top 10

I sort of hope not.

If you believe that then for who?

I dont disagree with you but I'm trying to be glass half full. If only 23 players have a first round grade then at least the Saints can get two of them signed to rookie deals this year.

I dont think this is a qb move. At least I hope not. I'm hoping it's a starting WR and T.

For instance I just did a pff mock draft.

You might have Olave, Penning and the Baylor Cb Pitre available in those 3 picks. I'd feel pretty good with that haul of dudes on rookie deals.

So the Saints get a 6th round pick and the Eagles get 2nd, 3rd, and 7th round picks. Philly wins the trade in a landslide even if Saints win Super Bowl.

Two first round picks this year No first round picks next year

I’m so confused. It would be the most Saints thing ever to have this season fall apart and watch the Eagles draft with our top ten pick next year.

The scary part for me is that if Kamara is suspended, it could really devalue the draft capital we gave up.

a healthy AK and MT keeps us a playoff team so we would be drafting in the 20s next year. SO lets hope he gets a minimal suspension.

I’m all about going for it right now and putting all your chips to the center of the table. Go get Trevor Penning at 16 to replace Armstead. He plays with a mean streak and that would be great since our LG is a big pile of shite. Then you have to go get Winston some help at WR with 19. Drake London, Chris Olave, Jameson Williams or Kaylon Burks would be good choices here but something tells me they might roll the dice and take a QB here and let him sit then address WR in round 2. I really like Mattt Corral’s potential so I wouldn’t be mad but I think they can get a QB next year. We have to rebuild the offense.

If we move up to 10 for Hamilton, that would be good value as long as we got a pick back. no doubt that kid grows into an outside LB after a few years and is all pro.

But seeing that 3-4 tackles rated in top 10, im guessing its for a tackle. This makes sense b/c you can get a starting tackle for 5 years at the price of TA in one year.

Did the Saints bring in/work out any OL ?

We done this multiple times so the most Saints thing ever would be the pick ending up in the 20s like all the other times.

That won’t be a top 10 pick, this team is a playoff team still even with the losses we suffered. We just have to do whatever it takes to get Trevor Penning.
