Just saw that the league uses SOS has a tie breaker with teams with similar records. Teams with a lower SOS will draft higher as they achieved the same record with a weaker schedule. With that, appears Saints are now in the 7th slot:

1st LVR: 2-11, .572 SOS
2nd Tenn: 2-11, .589 SOS
3rd NYG: 2-11, .602 SOS
4th Clev: 3-10, .464 SOS
5th tie NYJ: 3-10, .518 SOS
5th tie Wash: 3-10, .518 SOS
7th NO: 3-10, .556 SOS
8th AZ: 3-10, .592 SOS

Not trying to break down the 5th or 6th slot between NYJ or Wash as the league has different rules for team tied after SOS depending on division, conference, or neither

We didn’t have a rookie qb starting in those years with a rookie head coach. Shough putting it together and winning absolutely matters. Sorry about your mocks.

Got me there. Maye won 3 games of 12 that he started last year and as you can tell it has totally derailed his career this year….

You can root against the saints if you want but what is the organization supposed to do?

The Patriots didn’t only win 3 games last year because they were trying to lose, they had the worst coaching staff in the league. Yes Maye made a leap but the coaching stuff improvement was astronomical. Same in Chicago.

The Saints are in a different situation because we also hope to have found our coach of the future. Unlike the Bears and Pats last year our coaching staff hasn’t lost the team which may cost us a few draft spots.

Maybe you have the 3-10 teams reversed. Harder to win with a stronger strength of schedule.

NFL.com
quote:

In situations where teams finished the previous season with identical records, the determination of draft position is decided by strength of schedule — the aggregate winning percentage of a team’s opponents. The team that played the schedule with the lowest winning percentage will be awarded the higher pick.

The logic being if a team with a lower SOS achieved a similar record as a team with a higher SOS, the lower team would pick first because they are most likely a weaker team.

If tanking is the answer...how do you implement it? You said they are actively trying to win..how do you stop that happening?

I am sure you have a plan on how it is done, correct?
