This. The more I think about it, the more I like it. He's a impact player day 1 who is used to creating turnovers. We need that.

According to who? This is THE biggest problem fans run into. Don't believe media boards. Quite often they are WAY off most teams' boards.

Still not 1 DE taken. Saints will jump on their target when they have to. Hopefully he just falls right to 76 though. They probably like a few guys.

We'll draft a DE in the 5th who will inevitably suck and then Payton will complain all year about needing to affect the QB.

Saints could trade back in, you never know.

Still tons of talent at pass rush left. They could also use some future picks. Let's relax guys. They're improving the defense. It's a marathon not a race.

Teams play in the nickel 65% of the time. I'm ok with this pick. It wasn't Kizer. Just invest in KT tape for Kikaha and maybe grab a DE in the 3rd.

Hmmmm, just a thought-

how much do we like Peat at LT?

In theory, we could trade Armstead for a better pass rusher than we might draft, plug Peat at LT, and Ram takes Peat's spot of "tackle in waiting". Could be a net gain.

Williams

School: Utah

Position fit: FS/S

Stats to know: Highest run-stop percentage of all FBS safeties in 2016. Second-highest tackle efficiency against run of all FBS safeties in 2016.

That's pff breakdown.

This kid can play. Defense is getting better. That's all I care about

We'll value Armstead more than most other teams and won't get good enough return.

Plus the Ram pick was all about replacing Strief. Fingers crossed it works this time, even though Peat is a great LG so I'm not complaining.

I swear we draft two ball hawks in the secondary with Williams and Lattimore and people bitch and moan. Do people not remember what our defense was like in 2009? Very good ball hawking secondary which allowed them to use more exotic blitz packages to apply pressure. All we had on that defensive line as far as pro bowlers was Will Smith and then a bunch of journeymen.

Unfortunately, for DB's, lower wonderlic's are associated with better performance in the NFL.

Well, I would bet we're in nickel most of the time anyway.
