We should be able to get him for cheaper than that

Cheaper than that makes it a no brainer.

We should sign him as insurance. But I'd be trying to get a QB in the draft. If Kenny Pickett were to drop past 13 I would jump on getting one of those Philadelphia picks and select him.

This would be a great thread to save and see which take is right. Winston is going to crush it this year, and we aren’t going to be snake bit with injuries to drag the bar down. 1 playoff win is the minimum expectation.

If we sign him.

He would not take that unless it had escalators or bonuses for production built in to get it significantly higher. Would guess he is looked for at least $18-$20 million a year if he performs.

He has nowhere else to start.

No one really wants him as their starter.

I think he gets anywhere from 10 to 15 mil a year.

This is laughable! Tier 2 QB are making 25 a year. No way would his agent go for 12 mil per year deal.

Who else is paying that? Backup QBs don’t make 12 a year. So who is paying him starter money?

Kaepernick thiught he was worth 20 a year. Guess who paid it to him? Nobody. Winston will get paid what the market allows or he can sit home like Kaep

The Saints will never win anything worth a shite with Winston steering the offense. I don't care if he signs here for vet minimum - he's not and should not ever be the guy moving forward.

Inconsistent game to game, and he was hyper-efficient outside of his norm in the GB game and WAS game, so don't inflate his stats as though he's some elite guy.

Talk about how when he was asked to throw more starting game 5 after attempting 20, 22, 21, and 23 passes weeks 1-4, he was a 52% passer weeks 5 and 6 when asked to throw 30+ times. He's not efficient, not a chain-mover, not a good decision maker, and can't be trusted to ever make good decisions.

It's year 8 for this guy - stop making him something he's not. He is who he is.

I want taysom as a te. Let him really get reps there, I think he could be good

He won't last. You are forgetting his serious concussion issues. I just don't think he has much of the Taysom role deal left in him. He's not good enough at QB. He's just a one read or run guy that cannot see the field, process the plays, and go through progressions. I'd like to move on from him completely if we are being honest.

There is no market for him. He’s lucky if he even comes out of free agency with a starting job

And the saints already offered him early in the offseason. The same deal may not even be on the table anymore
