Yep. He has to prove himself now. He hasn't done anything on the football field that suggests he's better than Rattler or Haener. People think he will automatically become good because we reached on him.

I don't think Rattler is the guy long term, but also look at the guys he was playing with last year. It was rough.

I think a lot of it is similar to the Carr situation. In the back of their minds, they know this is a gamble with some potential. However, the hope that whoever it is ends up being the guy turns this potential into blind optimism and just wanting him to succeed. They then defend themselves by jumping anyone that thinks differently by calling them a hater.
Similar to how you automatically call anyone that sees something as potentially positive as a face painter

There were no “first round talents” on the board, it was the second round. There were other “second round talents” available, as well as third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and UDFA available, but no first-rounders; those 32 were already gone.

Fair enough, but there's really not much to be positive about if you are being objective. And the face painters get to pick and choose what's ok to be positive. You're not allowed to be positive about Olave on here. I've been positive about the Rattler's potential since day one.

There are 7 picks between 32 and 40. Call it what you will, the value should not be dismissed when dealing with a league worst roster

I haven't seen anything to suggest that yet.
Hopefully, he develops into that kind of player. He's certainly still young enough to get there.

He played in some games with preseason type lineups . I also thought that the coaching was hot and cold with Kubiak. Yeah he could start off some games doing okay but once the other team made adjustments the Saints never really countered.
It's early but I get the impression the coaching as a whole could be better.
