That's the easiest way to start. We need to quit moving Cs and Ts to G. Get a good G in FA, draft another G in round 2 or 3. As far as defense, Godchaux just isn't holding up as I'd hoped. He does fine on 1 on 1 blocks but gets washed out when double-teamed. The backup NTs get washed out on 1 on 1. We need a true 3-4 NT that can hold ground on double-teams. That can make below average LB play become above average.

Get whoever we want in round 1. But getting 2 true guards and a true 3-4 NT, will get us moving forward. We are getting gashed up the middle on run D, and can't do anything on O running the ball up the middle.

I get we need a pass rusher, maybe that can be our 1st pick, or WR, QB. When you can't stop the run or pass, the easiest thing to do is start with fixing the run D. This 2nd and 2 every time is getting old. It's only 3 pieces to add, but can go a long way if we do it.

sadly, there's not a single position on our team that won't be immediately improved by taking best player available

This is damn close to correct. I believe Banks will be a great LT. Not sure what happened to Fuaga at RT. McCoy is always injured.

I've had similar thoughts, other than the true 3-4NT. I do not even pretend to think I understand the individualized positions along the interior Dline between the different alignments.

Address 1 of the OG spots in FA and get a few value weapons to help the QB. Get the top pass rusher in the draft with the 1st pick. Get the best OG available with the 2nd round pick (as long as it's not a ridiculous reach).

How much better can Godchaux, Breese & Young be if there is a guy on the other side that commands attention while still being able to affect the backfield.

I can't argue there. But G has to be one of the easier positions to "hit a homerun" with and evaluate. We just keep trying to force Ts and Cs there, have for a decade. You can get the top 10 Gs in the draft, close your eyes and throw 2 darts, and you'll probably land 2 competent Gs.

Well, first and foremost, they need to be able to eat blocks on 1st down. Allow LBs to go untouched to the ball carrier.

I don't disagree. We need a pass rusher. But what good is a pass rusher if it's always 2nd and 2 after an 8-yard rip right up the middle

100%

DT, LB, OLine across the board. These are our biggest weaknesses. QB isn't the major problem right now. We need to build these trenches, roll with our current QBs and then look at 2026 to upgrade it if needed. 2026 is looking to be a big year for the QB draft

Yes we need WR and TE as well, but these can be serviceable as long as the trenches are sound. Plus they are easier to find in FA and trades

They’ve been trying for a decade and failing so it can’t be that easy.

Well, for starters stop drafting Ts and Cs to play G, draft Gs to play G. I like our young Ts we have on this team.

Surely there’s a couple decent FA Gs that won’t break the bank this offseason. Just getting 1 is enough, and then draft 1 hopefully within first 3 rounds without overreaching.

Well not round 1, but maybe rounds 2 or 3
