I think SP can make Jameis very successful.

Winston starting and hill continuing his role could be good. Hill being able to help in the red zone with his legs could negate some of the int concerns of Winston imo

They were asking that question in Tampa last year. Now the Bucs are in the conference finals.

Not so sure about that. We’ve had young QBs come in here previously and none of them panned out. Drew Brees worked hard and made himself successful. Winston’s a bit of a clown. He has enough physical tools but .......... he’s a bit of a clown.

If we can sign him for a reasonable amount.
I’m not sure why anyone thinks there’s a real good chance he gets a big offer from any team.
He was on the market all offseason with little to no interest. The Saints signed him late for pennies on the dollar.
There was nothing he was able to do this season to show any change or improvement. Unless a team buys into the theory that a year under Payton and Brees is some magic elixir I don’t see a strong market for him. I highly doubt any team is going to commit years and dollars counting on Jameis Winston to lead their team.
If I’m his agent I look for that deal. But I also know his best opportunity is in NO with no real competition at this point and under Payton.
Obviously this changes if the Saints add another QB it plans to hand the keys to. But Jameis getting a 3-5 year deal at $10-15 mil per is very, very unlikely.

Steve young also sat for awhile behind a generational QB before becoming great. Similar situation.
Jameis hasn’t started his 5th season yet and has arguably better numbers than Manning to this point, who’s to say the point I made earlier aren't the reason he could also become an mvp his 5th season as a starter.
Also, people make mistakes and that has nothing to do with anything, I bet your dumb arse made more than a few, if you know the crab leg story you know how fricking dumb it was and allegations are just that, allegations. Probably just as safe to say it’s made up bs at this point. Even if true, Big Ben has won 2 Super Bowls so that proves that is meaningless in evaluation football talent and W/L’s.
If you paid any attention to anything you responded to, you might have known tf I’m talking about is that Jameis COULD HAVE LEARNED A LOT AND COULD BECOME GREAT FOR US. He’s got the arm talent to do it so I am willing to at least give him a shot.
I would ask if you have any better ideas but you clearly have shiit for brains.
Nobody said any of this is guaranteed, just worth a shot to see what we have and if he’s learned anything at all playing with the GOAT and a QB guru.

I agree - I just have trouble seeing Winston as the face of our franchise.

I wouldn’t say I want to so much as I fear the other options would be a lot worse.

Name 1 “young QB” that has come thru NO with Jameis type arm talent that hasn’t panned out.

I wanna roll with hill

If the Saints can sign him for about 15 mil per year, I want to roll with him.
Posted on 1/24/21 at 7:16 am to St Jean The Baptiste
Good luck with that turnover machine. Crab leg stealing, w eating, women raping loser.
Posted on 1/24/21 at 8:22 am to St Jean The Baptiste
Absolutely. At least for a year and see what we can do with him.

$15 mil/year?! Are you kidding?! Read my prior post. You’re bidding against yourself at this point.

quote:I'm thinking the Saints hid Jameis this year. Didn't want a repeat of the Teddy Bridgewater experience (steps in and looks decent in a pinch, gets signed elsewhere because of that).
Winston is guaranteed to be the starter in week 1 if he competes against Taysom. Anyone that thinks otherwise is delusional.
I think Jameis is everything you want in QB, at least physically. I also think Payton believes he can teach him.
If he can, it's like having a Top 5 draft pick.

He needs to roll out of town.

Kind off sucks when all your HC cares about is statistics instead of a new QB
