Another thought, if bears trade their 2nd highest pick, it should reap all kinds of picks back.

We can say the same thing about Loomis.

Loomis is at worst an average GM.

Pace is bad.

Dude was fired almost two years ago lol. He didn’t make these trades.

National media is ripping this trade. One of them said this is one of the worse trades in recent memory. The other one being the Claypool trade. A team going no where giving up a top tier asset.

Said the same thing I said. Sweats a good player, not elite. But yiu traded him to give him 20+ million a year or franchise him?

Said the trade looks even worse when you consider the pick is at 37 right now and the 9ers gave up a pick that will be closer to the 100’s for chase young.

they are going to resign him, obviously. Just like the reason they had the Panthers include DJ Moore in the trade.

That make no sense. Why not just sign him when he's a free agent and keep the 2nd round pick which will be around 33-35 likely. And before you say it gives them a leg up on signing him, is losing a bunch of games this year with Chicago really going to help them resign Sweat.

Exactly. Might have the opposite effect. Might decide no way in hell he wants to stay. It’s a gamble either way.

I'm saying they are usually in a negative game script and playing from behind and Sweat isn't going to be in as many spots to rush the passer.

they do struggle in coverage, so I get why they did it to help with pressure on the QB.

it's just for a 2nd round pick? That's too rich for my blood.

and you know there is no guarantee that they draft successfully with the 2nd round pick they just gave up getting him.

they may even have a new coaching staff.

there are a lot of questions there

I guess the play here is the franchise tag which they would have to leverage into a resign.

Option for the player---Play on a one year tag without a guarantee or get a 4 year deal with 60-70% guaranteed.

To resign him. They're going to get a lot of capitol for one of those early picks but you also need some players that are elite and a little older to build a culture. Can't all be young kids.

I just hope this dude doesn't come into the game tomorrow and all of a sudden make some impact plays.

Wasn't it last year when we played the Ravens and they acquired Roquan Smith? The thought was well he just got there maybe it'll take him some time to get up to speed but he came right in and had a good game against us.

I know it's two different positions we're talking about here but that would be typical dumb luck.

I’d rather the high second round pick

Ram is gonna have his hands full. Sweat has been solid & consistent all year; it wasn't like he feasted 1 game.

We signed Granderson for half that. I'll take our contract over that one. That's a lot
