That guy’s radar was definitely active so there is definitely more to the story.

Man that’s awful. I can totally understand why that guy would feel a need to defend himself with strangers getting up close and in his blind spot. But you can’t kill there.

They converged on him in a way I'd find alarming were it me.

I agree with this, but I don’t think this rises to reasonable fear of death or great bodily injury.

I think self-defense would have justified unarmed fighting or resorting to a nonlethal self-defense tool, like a taser or mace. Had it just been assault and battery, he might be ok, based on what’s presented about the circumstances leading up to it. But homicide, no.

(edit: I’m talking about the state of the law as it is, not what it should or shouldn’t be)

Yeah, that dude quickly opened fire. Didn't look like the black male did or said anything menacing...

I wish all the people downvoting will tell me what they think they saw.

One older fellow vs multiple young men... he wouldn't have stood a chance in unarmed fighting.

Also... something that only just now came to mind is this:

had old man waited to be jumped by them before pulling heat, those "kids" would have disarmed him and then had a lethal weapon at their disposal- to use on him or whoever else they decide to converge on and frick with next. Maybe old dude had that in his split second calculus.

OKBS- have you watched any of the plethora of "World Star" type video clips that show how this young, black, male and menacing demographic handle themselves in groups while harassing people? I don't think publicly available mace or tasers would have done a damn thing to ensure his safety.

Nope. Have you?

I'm not the one asking "which one said something."

I'm sure it was silent until the shots popped off.

They may or may not have been going up to rob him, but one of the guys he dropped barely even looked at him.

But I didnt say he must've said something or did something to the guy to justify the shooting. I didn't see anything scary looking.

What could he have said to make the cyclist guy go to shooting like that anyway? A death threat?

Crazy video. Like they say, keep to yourself. You never know who will pull a gun a shoot you these days.
