Are there any bands not getting included? I know Southeastern doesn't march because their band isn't capable of it. Genuinely have never heard of bands being left out that wsnt to be included.

When I hear "stompers" only this comes to mind:

I guess I should clarify. I don't know that exclusion is the right word. But parades are strictly limited to the number of filler items they can have between floats. These stomp groups have been getting created more and more and they are way more prevalent in parades than ever. So, in theory, they are taking a spot from a band.
Maybe bands aren't wanting to march anymore?

Found the stomper.
Not a stomper but I don’t watch or give them attention either.

There just aren't nearly the number there used to be, I think.

I have nothing but respect for the old school walking krewes. And like some have mentioned, these fatasses both male and female generally have huge egos about being in these groups.

That's more disappointing than the stomp groups.
Marching bands were always so much fun.

When NYX rolled last year they had so many homemade bands and just random shite.
Could be people didn't want to march in NYX. Could be that bands just don't exist like they used to. Also could be that a band needs a lot more money to show up than these dance groups do.
What do Metry parades look like with bands?

This could be right. Hell, I bet these stomp groups actually pay, instead of being paid.

Houma has their own Men’s Group called Selucrey. It is Hercules spelled backwards with a y replacing the H.
So it's not Hercules spelled backwards?

Dude, it’s Mardi Gras. It’s all embarrassing.

It is a lot less than you probably think. $500, maybe less. Maybe more if it is a bigger name krewe or deeper pockets.
(Basing this on a few female marching groups pay)

I am a fan. The first time I ever saw them was at the Bobby Hebert for Buddy D Dress Parade before the Saints Superbowl. I thought they were a rag tag bunch joke in around when they were first lined up on Poydras Street. After they started I realized that they were actually correographed.

That would be Selucreh, I don't think that rolls off the tongue so that was why they mad the modification.
Anyway, Mardi Gras Day falls on my birthday this year. If there was one thing I wanted to do on my birthday would be to walk the streets with these guys. But I doubt I would make it past the mall. LOL

I know almost the whole founding generation very well, and they are NOT tools. A great bunch of guys. But I will agree that they are attention whores. Another factor is that it was started by a bunch of heterosexuals, but it has morphed into at least half gay. So the character is changing.

Don't forget the "689 Swampers" from Lafitte. They go out in jean shorts camo and shrimp boots.
How exactly is any of this embarrassing to you?
