AAA is just a 3rd party insurance essentially. I don’t know why a tow truck being late is directly their responsibility. Lets say they require vendors be there on avg in under 60 mins. It’s not their fault or to their credit if a guy shows up in 15 mins or in 120 mins.
They simply have a vendor network they use and rely on the vendor to follow their service contract.

I’ve always had great service from AAA. That hundred or so bucks a year is well worth it.

I use State Farm roadside service. They all hire out 3rd party and no telling how long it takes. But the 2 times I used them, timeframe was reasonable.

Same experience and we’ve been members since 1978. Complete waste. No more maps or trip tiks either.

I pay Geico about a dollar per month per car for emergency roadside assistance. The one time I needed a tow, they had someone out there in 45 minutes and managed to not frick up my car in the process.
Five stars.
I have Geico too and have used it three times over the last 15 years. Twice were just flats in the city that I didn't want to deal with myself and another time a tow due to a broken ignition key cylinder.
All three times they were easy to contact and the repair/tow service was in contact with me right away and there in 30-45 minutes.

Life 360 is where it's at. The premium plan includes roadside services for like $15 per month and the one time I used it for a tow they had someone out in 30 minutes!

My car died at my home a few months ago so I called AAA to get the battery changed out. They asked me to tip at the end, really annoyed me.

Nobody mentioned it here and I think its the differentiator with AAA.
AAA Premier you get 1 tow a year up to 200 miles.
This is extremely valuable since I live near Lake Charles and I travel to both BR and Houston.
Most services only carry cost within 50 miles.
