*inside your home is a different story. Then an intruder should be shot.

It's going to be hard for him to prove that his life was still in danger after the old man have already fired off two rounds....at least from that video.
From what I can see is the old man shoots the bat guy twice, the bat guy then throws the bat (you can see it hit him and hear it hit the ground) and then both the father and son retaliate with more shots.

Personally I think old man and his dipshit son should have walked away. That is what I would have done, but I can see the old man getting off with the right lawyer. I also absolutely see the son being convicted of manslaughter though especially if it can be proven that his shot killed the man after he was down.

I'm not arguing you shouldn't do that. That's what i would do, but i'm not an idiot like those in the video.
I'm not saying the old man was right in what he did. He was wrong in just about everything he did, but given the stupid situation they were all in, he had no choice but to shoot at that point. He should go to jail for being an idiot and escalating it to that point when he didn't have to, but there is nothign wrong with shooting someone with a bat that's comign at you.

I assumed all these fine people in this thread mentioning the bat already did the research and knew that it was there because you really don't see a "bat attack" in the video....you really don't see orange shirt boy do much of anything other than invade personal space and curse a lot in the video.

I may have missed it, but not certain the old man's first two shots actually hit orange shirt.
Is it possible that the old man fired two warning shots as orange shirt came at him? Then, orange shirt throws the bat at old man after backing away a bit from the two warning shots?

ETA which is hard as a MF'er in CA on a self defense case. You'd have to have better video than what we have here to make it happen. One of the best things old man and dipshit have on their side is that this is in Texas.
