Fences make good neighbors

In a rural area she is lucky that dog hasn't been shot yet. We've shot them for less in my part of East Texas. Her dog's issues are not your problem when it's on your property.
You did the right thing in talking to her. But if she is making excuses then no sense wasting anymore time. The next time her dog crosses the proverbial gun line it's fair game.
And don't offer to pay for a fence to keep her dog off your property.

I see a whole lot of kill the dog responses.
Think about this, you’ve talked to her about the dog, so she knows it’s a problem in your eyes. If the dog turns up dead, who do you think she’s going to be looking at? There’s an awful lot that can happen to a property as revenge for someone whose doesn’t live there and isn’t there full time.

Just tell your neighbor to make sure their dog remains on their property. Blame your guests (white lie). Tell them you’ve had multiple people complain.

Sounds like you need to work harder and pull yourself up by your bootstraps instead being a leach.
Do you still think we need proof of your idiocy?

Lol I will not be killing or harming this dog.

I will work harder and stop leaching off myself. Unbelievable.

That’s why I said offer to build a fence, or pay cost of the fence
1) The property is 2 acres and along the Bogue Chitto River. You know how much a fence that size would cost.
2) The dog is swimming across the river. You want the owner to put a fence along the bank of the river? That would totally kill the vibe of the cabin and hurt the rental investment.
SUMMARY: A fence would not only be very expensive, but also cause the owner to lose bookings/money.

YEa fence is not the answer. Doesn't make sense given the rural lanscape. Although a big pin on the neighbors property could help.

It attacked your daughter! You have the right to sue the owner for their property. Get Gordon or whoever the Mississippi equivalent is

I’d also invest in some cameras if there’s an incident between a renter or their dog & neighbors dog
A camera on property with renters always there???? No one wants to see any cameras while renting AirBNB. I would think people would assume it's creepy. Just my thought.

Based on the reviews, there are a few posters who would do it for a free weekend ??. Kind of like a rewards program.

Would not want to leave poison around my property .. especially a rental… who knows what will eat it… you leave one out and kill a rentals dog… bad news… would not want to harm the dog to the point of puncturing the skin etc.. not his fault he is just a dog…
You talked to the owner .. catch the dog.. take him to the animal shelter.. tell the owner to go get him.. after a few times they may get tired of being inconvenienced???
Could you just pop the dog with a paint gun… after coming home all colored up a few times the owner may get tired of washing the dog
And if the owner comes over yelling you can then pop the owner
Good luck

not harming a dog or turning against anyone. Just trying to get some perspective here to make sure i'm not only seeing things through my eyes. being a kind, considerate neighboring property owner is important to me.
