I think that one of the things that they are doing is laying off everyone involved in making their Fire tablets. Cheap Chinese android tablets work as well for a lot less money.

I’m guessing the coding job sector is losing its luster?

The big facility in BR isn’t up and running yet. Will it be impacted?

Ask the mayor of Slidell now that’s working out for them.

As someone who has worked in this industry for quite some time there is a lot of dead weight. Mostly in the form of people who are not willing to keep up with industry trends. Then there is in some sectors the over-hiring in these departments. Some of these could very well be temporary or "perma-temp" type jobs which is common in the industry.

I feel for anyone working in a corporate IT department right now.

But the big one in BR isn’t open. Will it? Will Amazon expand? Are they hiring? That’s what I’m asking.

It may not open at all. There was talk to mothball Shreveport due to orders slowing down. Cortana was slated to open 24.

AWS will not be affected by this. Middle management, HR, Sales/Marketing, Program and Product Management will absolutely be effected.

Yes. That part of their business actually earns money.

This is incorrect. Amazon.com breaks even. AWS is what makes money.

Said this for a couple years now but this is what happens when you "vote" for a moron like Biden as "president".

You get what you vote for.

Hmm, makes you wonder if someone encouraged them to over-hire for an election
