Immediately. It's very important to recognize that it's over.

All of these divorce threads make me not want to get married

If the papers have been filed there's almost certainly no going back. I stopped wearing mine before we even separated because it was obvious it was over. Stop torturing yourself and put that thing away someplace where you will forget about it.

True. Same for me.

I stopped wearing mine when the actual papers were filed. I waived service, so I waited until my lawyer told me. Was one of the hardest parts of all the situation.
Yeah I’m cuck but we were together 30 years, married 20.

Men's wedding bands usually aren't worth shite. I think I paid $100 for mine.

I moved it from the ring finger to my keys after we had separated long enough that getting back together was looking unlikely, but before divorce was definitive.

Just don't be trashy and don't marry trash.

Took it off once I knew it was over.
Lost it. Found it a couple years later at my parents.
Lost it again. Found it under the couch.
Gave it to a buddy who wanted a nice ring that fit another finger.

I finally took my ring off when the divorce was final.

I have a hard time believing that everyone that posts these threads are trashy or married into trash.

This thread is depressing as hell

You need to lower your expectations.

Baws, if your wife says peace out and wanted a divorce, when did you stop wearing your wedding ring?
At that exact moment.

I’m happily married and don’t wear my ring that often.

My best friend's parents, who were both like a second set of parents to me growing up, just got a divorce after being married for over 45 years.
